Indivara laughed softly, shaking her head, not at all surprised R’vi was whoring himself out and enjoying it. Well, so long as he was enjoying it, she wished him all the fun in the world with his antics. She was pleased that, overall, the effects of both their lives had simmered their own relationship into playful flirty and the easy companionship that had been there in the early days. She liked R’vi, but she wasn’t comfortable with him like that. Definitely not the way Val made her feel. Her gaze drifted towards the hall that lead to the dragon’s ledge, and she felt Venseth’s gentle touch. I’ll let you know when they’re home, he said softly, as if she wouldn’t feel Veeth bombard her with the latest gossip!
“You’d be welcome company,” Indivara said honestly, though she didn’t offer the bluerider the use of their couch. Mostly because she was still enjoying the changes in her relationship with Val and felt it would be awkward to make eyes at her mate when there was company sprawled and snoring on the couch. Besides, Val probably wouldn’t appreciate that kind of background noise when he was trying to write. Which really, should have made Indivara offer to have R’vi crash on the couch, but she was in much too mellow of a mood at present to seriously consider teasing Val like that. Never mind the fact that she could be deliriously happy or hysterical or Faranth knew what emotion within the next half hour!
The gentle teasing about her being ‘preoccupied’ with Val made Indivara blush and she ducked her head, wondering how much information Veeth had given away. He was a sweet dragon, and she knew he’d never do anything to upset her or Val, but he was also too innocent sometimes, and probably wouldn’t realise he’d said something that would upset them, until it upset them and he learned. In reality, he probably didn’t say much more than ‘not now’, but Indivara still squirmed uncomfortably and refused to look at her friend until he changed the subject to her learning to be a Weyrlingmaster, and she looked up suddenly, face bright with excitement.
“Yes!” She squealed, both hands clasped around her half-empty glass of juice. “Mulrissa’s gold, Bedith, flew recently. You probably heard. Anyway, I’ll be teaching their class!” Huge blue eyes looked at R’vi with excitement and anticipation. She was thrilled with the invitation to be the teacher of the class, and even with her overworking herself to fainting just before R’vi dropped by, Indivara didn’t see how it could happen teaching a group of kids; she even knew being pregnant was exhausting but it wasn’t enough to put a damper on her excitement. Besides, she could sit down any time she wanted to! “We haven’t called in the candidates yet, ‘cause you guys have a clutch soon at Ista, but we’ll steal them once it Hatches and I think the Searchers will be going out soon?” She shrugged, not really caring about that part of it all. She was just looking forward to terrorising the Candidates!
