Dessa nodded thoughtfully at Onari’s given information. She wasn’t quite sure what to make of the young woman now, though she supposed if she were uneducated she certainly wasn’t going to be someone important enough to bring down a Lord on their heels. Even if she’d been a peasant that married a high-ranking man, he would have had her educated to at least read and write, probably. Dessa had found that most men didn’t want a well educated woman, but they didn’t want one that couldn’t hold her own when in the company of another man’s wife. Men were so ridiculous.
An eyebrow arched up slightly at Onari’s obvious eagerness regarding Telgar Weyr, though honestly that wasn’t really surprising. Many folks had migrated to the Weyr for the freedom their lifestyle seemed to offer. Or at least, the lack of outright judgement in many areas – such as having a child with no man present to take care of the mother. “Telgar Hold,” she said, emphasising the ‘hold’ part just slightly. “Though the dragonriders come down plenty.” She added thoughtfully, humming softly. “Though its only a short distance from there to the Weyr.”
Dessa turned and looked Onari over carefully, wondering if the young woman would vanish in the middle of the night to complete the journey to the Weyr. Though the journey between Hold and Weyr was not long, Dessa really didn’t want the her traveling on that injury. “Once you are healed, I will take you there myself, if you wish.”
