It wasn't hard to notice when he arrived, the other people who were outside, or just waiting to see the holds weary own dragon rider appear. They had been talking, the normal buzzing of voices suddenly came to total still, silence filling the air for moments before they took back up. But Kikki did not hear them, instead, her eyes were on the sky. On her brother and his green. Sure she seen a dragon before, when they had searched the hold for candidates, when he had been searched. But always had it been from a safe distance. Eyes would follow them in their descent from the sky, and her eyes still wide with surprise from when he suddenly appeared from out of nowhere.
As they came closer to the ground she could see the mighty creature better, her green hide dark but varying in shade. Light colors on her neck. She was stunning, and Kikki couldn't help but watch in wonder as she decedent from her spot in the sky to the ground. And when she landed she was huge, sure Kikki new dragons were large but this big? She seen them fly over the hold now and then, seen them as they came to search but never this close. Never had she seen such a big creature up close. Truth to be told, it was scary.
Hands having grabbed onto the fabric od her dress sought to smooth out the wrinkles created with nervous strokes. Eyes would lift from her dress to the brother she hadn't seen in two turns. But she didn't move forth more than a few steps. Eyes seeking his face, seeking his expression. Was he happy to see her? Was he embraced by them? The thought made a fire burn in her chest. He never seemed like it in his letters but why elles would he not have come back? The thought hurt, and she just stood there looking at him, a sudden hesitant smile on her lips. She wanted to believe he wasn't but why wouldn't he be? They were Drudges, and he was a rider now, he was a free man.
"Hello brother" she finally spoke, tongue and throat feeling dry and the feeling of hurt never seeming to leave her.
