So he wanted to help? Tal highly doubted that, but he kept his reservations to himself. Unfortunately for R'nd, his continued obliviousness to Tal's concerns was only serving to exaggerated them more. The blueirder's words grew kinder and softer, almost too gentle to be trusted, and his touch grew more invasive. Tal could feel his heart pounding in his chest and throat.
The hairs on the back of his neck sprang up at R'nd's word choice. Get to know him better? Surely he didn't mean anything illicit, right? No one actually used those words as a code for something more intimate, right?
He cringed a bit, shrinking away from the fingers as they brushed underneath his chin. "Y-you don't understand," he panted, his voice quivering lightly as he tried once again to make himself small.
He couldn't stand it anymore. The proximity was too much, the implications too threatening...and dear Faranth, Tal had no idea how to say 'no' to a dragonrider. Would B'jin get angry with him if he did? Shards, would B'jin get angry at him if he didn't? What was the etiquette? What were his rights?
Oh, that's right. None.
Overcome with sudden terror, the healer squeaked a pitiful response to R'nd's unintentional advances, pleading wide-eyed with the bluerider as he backed up against the wall. Realizing there was no escape, he slowly began sliding down to the floor. "Oh Faranth, please don't do this to me," he groaned, tone laced heavily with resignation, for he already considered himself thoroughly doomed.
