T’bia tilted his head thoughtfully; farming seemed a lot more involved than he’d first thought! He had gathered there would be activities like looking after the livestock and working in the fields, but he hadn’t thought much beyond that. Learning that there was as much kitchen work to do on a farm as there was in a Weyr was insightful, and learning that there were message runners was too. He supposed it made sense, but he wondered if he ever would have realized how involved it all was if M’dox hadn’t told him. Probably not. T’bia sighed softly to himself and dug up his now-clean washing and began to wring it out, slowly moving it to the basket of wet laundry he was collecting. T’bia had had bad experiences with leaving his washing in the public locations to dry, so he had set up drying racks in his own weyr where it would be safe.
A serious nod was given in acceptance of M’dox’s comment about not visiting his family yet. While T’bia couldn’t really relate on the front of his whole family, he imagined that M’dox felt about visiting his family how T’bia felt about the prospect of visiting his mother again. A shudder travelled his spine, and the young man forced the thoughts and memories that were brought up by the mere connection to his mother, aside. He didn’t want to delve into any of that, not now, not ever! T’bia felt Jycenth step in, and the blue dragon easily blew away the memories and replaced them with love and acceptance. T’bia relaxed visibly.
“Oh, that’s a shame,” T’bia said softly, looking down trodden on M’dox’s behalf. The Hold was a lot of fun! “I went a lot with dad to start with, but it’s not so bad to go alone!” Of course T’bia unintentionally stuck to the ‘good’ parts of town, and wasn’t aware of those people who still hated on the dragonriders; he would have been shocked to learn that there were people in town that would spit on him if they were given the chance. Not because he didn’t expect to be treated like a leper (he was thus treated regularly by his fellow riders) but because he couldn’t comprehend people who didn’t like dragonriders as a whole.
T’bia was too insecure to think of offering to accompany M’dox into the Hold sometime, but Jycenth was not. He reached out gently to the brown dragon, not knowing the pair well enough to consider bespeaking the other rider without permission.Perhaps you and your rider would like to accompany us sometime, Riquarth? We’d be delighted with the company. T’bia is too shy to make such an invitation himself, The young blue dragon’s feminine voice was soft and light, almost airy though it sparkled with amusement at the end, and love of his human. T’bia blinked, and flushed though he smiled timidly at M’dox, hopeful that the other would accept the invitation issued through dragons.
