T’bia blinked owlishly when his introduction was mirrored back at him, and he flushed in embarrassment, feeling he was being mocked, despite the friendly smile on M’dox’s face. Or perhaps because of it. The young man dropped his gaze and bowed his head, sulking as he stared into the barrel of soggy clothing. Sighing sadly, he flicked a glance at M’dox to make sure he wasn’t coming over, and then began fishing the items out of the barrel, and dropping them into the clean water in another barrel to rinse them.
Easy, Bibi, the blue dragon’s gentle and feminine voice wrapped around T’bia’s mind and warmed him, reassuring. I think he’s just being friendly. You should say something to him, Jycenth was being gently pushy, pressing his rider to step out of the bubble he had cocooned around himself at M’dox’s response. Like what? T’bia thought, glancing up in panic as he fumbled for something to say to the other man, and wondering why his dragon was pushing him to speak to him. But Jycenth was always right, so why wouldn’t he be right about this?
“Oh. Um. D-do you know R’nd?”
Everyone knew R’nd, or at least it often seemed that way to T’bia, so it seemed like a concrete turn of conversation. The young bluerider was looking slightly wild around the eyes as he glanced anxiously at M’dox, before hunching his shoulders and returning to poking his clothing around in the rinsing barrel. Once he was sure it was nice and clean, he pulled out a top and wrung it gently, then set it aside in a basket.
