Casa’s bright expression didn’t cloud in the slightest at M’ris’ dour mood; the first few times the Weyrleader had been sour around her, Casa had taken it personally, getting quite upset about having upset the Weyrleader, but also someone she rather idolised. It had taken reassurance from Ameris that it wasn’t personal on a personal level. Or something. At any rate, Casa had cheered up when she realised it wasn’t just she that got on the bronzerider’s nerves. Thallyath had scolded her for being so self-centred.
He young goldrider’s cheerful expression brightened at Ameris’ invitation. Once upon a time, she would have been awkward and unsure about whether or not to accept, and certainly would have been cowed by the Weyrleader’s dismissal. As it was, to Thallyath’s snort, Casa flashed a quick smile at Ameris in thanks, and settled herself down beside the older goldrider, politely taking enough fruit to appease the invitation, without taking so much as to be considered a glutton or over reaching her invitation (though she had no doubt that M’ris would be displeased regardless.)
Casa’s sunny smile flashed again, and she nibbled delicately on a slice of fruit. “I love it!” It was kind of like living at Katila still – the beach was right there, albeit with salt water instead of the fresh water of Katila’s lake side location – and it was weather wasn’t so different. “The beaches are so pretty, and Thally likes sunning on them so I can go swimming.” She paused and pouted playfully. “But she refuses to budge until I’ve finished my tasks.”Hmph. If it weren’t for me you’d be little better than a greenrider, flittering around without an anchor. Casa ignored her dragon’s tart input.
