Z'rin instantly froze under N'mor's gaze and suddenly started to understand R'nd's fear of the younger man a bit better. That was an intense gaze that seemed to look right through him and Z'rin wondered what the bronzerider could see. "I uh, well... my family's cothold is near here. I haven't gone back to see them, likely won't given... well, I'm sure you know." Z'rin was still a bit embarrassed about how the scouting party he had gone South with so long ago had left him behind and he likely would have died in the wild if not for W'nor finding him and bringing him back to Katila. To this day some people still called him 'Lost and Found' or simply 'LF'.
"Anyway," Z'rin shifted from foot to foot for a moment before deciding he was already wet and the sand wasn't going to do much else to him. Flopping to the ground where he stood, Z'rin fidgeted with his fingers, knowing he was being scrutinize by a superior and should probably be standing at attention or something but this conversation was sorely pointing out how pathetic he was. You are not! You've just had a few bumps along the way that have made you stronger. Z'rin ignored his dragon's encouraging words as he finished explaining why he came to another Weyr and thought hanging out in the rain was a good idea.
"I don't always feel like I fit in still and R'vi lives at Ista and I hoped his lazy ass would be here and we could hang out for a bit. Instead I found the rain and figured I was here to swim, it didn't matter if I got wet in other ways while just... reflecting, I guess." He hadn't quite had that in mind before N'mor's question but now he was in a reflecting mood, wondering how he got to where he was in life, if he should show his parents -- if they were still alive -- that he lived and was a dragonrider, or if he should simply find someone to settle down with. He did have a daughter to think about, after all, though he wasn't exactly the perfect father or the parent she lived with. He tossed N'mor a slightly annoyed look from under wet bangs at all the thoughts that were now swirling in his head.
