The silence that fell over them had the crackling remnants of awkwardness, but as Clover landed lightly on Madiquel’s knee and crooned an apology and R’dare seemed to wander off into the world of his own thoughts, Madiquel relaxed and a smile once more found its way across her lips. She pet her firelizard, fingers light and gentle on her soft and freshly oiled hide. Smiling gently, Madiquel shifted to lay down; she was halfway to sprawling happily on the sandy grass when R’dare was leaping to his feet and she stared up at him owlishly.
Laughter bubbled free at his half demand, half suggestion, and Clover took flight with a shriek of joy. Madiquel climbed to her feet, taking R’dare’s hand and letting him haul her up. Once her hand was free, Madiquel was brushing her hands over her backside, dusting away the sand. “Okay!” She chirped, not at all against the idea. While she didn’t have any plans to Impress her own dragon, she was more than willing to exploit the dragons of her friends; she was never shy about accepting a ride, nor about helping with bathing or oiling when asked. She loved the beasts, and getting to spend time with them and her friends was always wonderful.
“Where are we going?” She asked, breathless with excitement that never seemed to fade away. Flying was magnificent fun, so freeing and liberating and wonderful! Her hands were clasped gently but firmly around R’dare’s upper arm as she hovered by his side, her watchful gaze switching between watching Kadiaisicalth and looking up at R’dare. Even if all they did was glide around above the Weyr, Madiquel would be delighted.
