Madiquel laughed richly at R’dare’s outrage and his pout, rolling her eyes good naturally as Clover gave a squeak of outrage at all the noise. It didn’t seem to occur to the little firelizard that she was just adding to the pollution. Madiquel hushed her, then looked up at R’dare as he spoke again. Her eyes widened dramatically at his implications and the wiggle of his eyebrows, before her whole face lit up like a fire, flushing hotly.
“R’dare!” She gasped, mortified. Echoing her bonded’s emotions, Clove shrieked in outrage, puffing up and taking off, scratching Madiquel’s chest and stomach through her clothes, causing the girl to yelp. Over all, it was a rather noisy response to R’dare’s teasing! Madiquel sat up, crossing her legs and scowling as she peered down the neck of her shirt to make sure there was no blood drawn. Satisfied, she settled on rubbing the stinging location on her belly. “Stupid firelizard,” she groused, though with no real venom. She threw a look of disgust at R’dare, not at all mollified by his response to everything.
“Oh, hush!” she snapped, still burning up from his teasing; would her face never cool back down? It didn’t help at all that she was struggling to find something new to talk about, to deflect the conversation well away from green dragons and flights.
