Dragonet and new Weyrling both whipped their heads to the side, the former eying the Candidate curiously while the latter glared up at the short man (at least he didn't have to crane his neck up to catch Kerrin's eye). Charath was in the process of debating whether she liked the hopeful Candidate or not, while Erisi was settled upon the decision to not like Kerrin at the moment. Kerrin was only trying to help him, but pointing out the obvious to him after laughing was definitely one way to get Erisi's attention. "I know, how about you try telling that to her?"
He smells bad. Who is he?
"A dimglow."
Oh. I think I like him!
"Charath," Erisi pleaded with his dragonet to not make friends out of people he wasn't currently favoring. It probably was the only reason Charath accepted the other man, though the acceptance was far more tentative than her clear favor for Valerian. In fact, she was still preening over the Candidate she had not chosen, and Erisi wasn't quite sure he enjoyed it. Didn't Impression mean that their lives revolved around one another now? How did she have enough room in her head for anyone else to fawn over.
I am hungry, Charath announced suddenly, as if the idea of food hadn't been implanted in her head by Kerrin, but rather she had come to the conclusion naturally. Tell that one to make sure he doesn't get hurt. She didn't say their names, but Erisi knew who she was talking about. Their names were supplemented by mental images of the two men in question, and it helped a little that she gestured to each one as she 'spoke' with her head.
"You tell him yourself."
I don't want to talk to him.
Erisi sighed heavily, rolling his eyes before turning his gaze back to Kerrin. "Don't let Val get mauled."
Tell him that I said to.
"No."
A stalemate lasted between the two before Charath's hunger won out. I'm really hungry, and I love you. she creeled plaintively, delicately removing herself from her bonded's chest so that he could get up. "Yeah, yeah." He cast an almost anxious glance towards Valerian, suddenly realizing that this meant he had to start an entirely new life. "Thanks, ah... good luck?" Well, he didn't want to be alone in this new... Weyrling crap.
Heaving another sigh, he rose onto his feet, and decided to properly shut Charath up by giving her something else to focus on - a large bucket of meat. Flashing a brief, uncertain smile to his friends, he moved off of the Hatching Sands to tend to Charath and hoped that his friends wouldn't lose their faces to an unruly dragonet.
