The Fire In My Mouth Hatchling stood and watched the proceedings intently, envying the speed of the humans when it could only sputter along because of its outsized limbs. Then it turned and caught sight of its sibling, the Hate Me Love Me Hatchling, hiding timidly from everything. The more bold sibling creeled softly at the Hate Me Love Me Hatchling, and then made a more demanding noise. One could only imagine that the former was ordering the latter to come out, or telling it that it was taking too long! Red eyes shone as the temper of the Fire In My Mouth dragonet flared and she ran as smoothly as she could manage to skid to a stop by Hate Me Love Me Hatchling. Growling, it grabbed hold of one head knob and pulled at it like a canine with a tug toy, eliciting grey whirls and sad sounds from the poor baby who'd been hiding.
Up to now, Thrice Born Hatchling had largely ignored its siblings on the Sands, instead carefully studying the Candidates who had not been injured, but the cries of pain from its sibling sparked something and she raced to help, nipping sharply at one of Fire In My Mouth's wings to urge it away. As it turned its frustration at the Hate Me Love Me's slowness to the Fire In My Mouth Hatchling, the latter made good on the chance to get away, coming up short when it collided with Corraidhin's legs. No injury occurred (past some bruising, of course) but when the little dragonet looked up into the boy's eyes, the dragonet's shone a full spectrum of colors. "It's okay, Coroth, I won't let anyone or anything hurt you, ever again!"
Meanwhile, the other two hatchlings had reared up to their hind legs, front paws on the other's shoulders, taking turns nipping at the neck and face of their sibling. Whether the Hate Me Love Me Hatchling pushed, or the Thrice Born Hatchling simply fell back, none could say, but in the next instant the latter was on their tail, its head knobs stuck in the Strong Soldiers egg and a large crack spreading around the circumference of the shell. A small head popped up, flipping the top off to nearly strike the "help" and the Terror of the Skies Hatchling peeped as though he had been woken from a deep sleep.
