He could hear feet, murmuring voices, someone screaming for the healers to get to him. He could hear another voice chiding, and more sounds that blurred together until they were insdistict, and just that. Sound. He waited longer, not daring to even open his eyes until he suspected the dragon... "F-Fa-Farlint..." came a voice, familiar to him. Ahh, she said his name so nicely, he reflected woozily and looked to stare at the familiar face of his favorite Healer. She always cleaned his scratches so nicely, and had such a cute scowl. Yep. She could get him off any time.
"Lym." he groaned her name, and blinked up at her. "It doesn't hurt." he said dumbly, and then pushed up onto his elbows when it seemed like a dragonet wasn't going to attack the woman's pretty face. "I think it just looks worse." He was lying, of course. It felt like a thousand knives sticking into his knee. He waved away the stretcher, allowing Lym to help him to his feet. "I want to keep Standing, Lym." he told her urgently. "Want to stay. Help me, please? This may be my only chance." He'd take her help getting standing, but no, no; He couldn't get off the Sands now.
It had been four years since Nirinath had Risen last, and he was already 24 turns. He had to stay here. "They can t-treat me on the edge, and give me fellis. I'll keep the weight off. But I have to stay. Have to."
