At times she'd wondered how exactly she'd ended up with such a relaxed dragon as her companion; well until Kahleena realised that it worked out for the best. She knew her own strengths had been enhanced with the relationship and connection that existed between her and Okalinath. That was why she wasn't surprised or worried that she'd turned up.
The clutch wasn't so far from where they were at present and Okalinath wasn't likely to hang around for long. She was merely being nosey and probably satisfying her own urge to be social. While Kahleena had nil skill when it came that talent when it came to her gold, Okalinath was a mistress of being friendly and general chit-chat. Kahleena only wished she had even the smallest measure of that ability You are better than you think -- it is rather lovely here though but I'm not sitting all day. We both of other things to hold our attention if there was one thing that her dragon did better than chatting it was reminding Kahleena to embrace the moment.
<<I know. I just want a moment more. What about your eggs, hmm? I'm sure they are hardening wonderfully...>> Mine shall be better than Igen the pride and determination in that mental voice would have been impossible to miss and given that she was speaking with her usual volume it wouldn't surprise Kahleena that the whole Weyr heard it being spoken.
"No, I couldn't go to Igen" saying the words that would have explained why seemed pointless given that no one could miss the clutch on the sands or the presence of the gold dragon watching over them if the smallest intrusion arrived to threaten her eggs.
Kahleena had seen how quickly her Okalinath would react and she pitied anyone caught out in their attempts at sneaking "Though I had heard about it. Especially when it came to the gold being Impressed" that was good news for them all. The dragon population needed to grow after all and that was the only way it would happen -- more golds meant more eggs and that produced more chances for Impression. This was of course critical when and if Thread did return "Did they have trouble getting enough candidates?" she asked.
That was something that Kahleena was curious about.
Thank you! I didn't notice the scrolling the first time or the additional tab when I saw it before but I think I got it all now. Do I need to thread out the Hatching for folks? I won't mind I just want a heads-up in case I have to do that as well. But I'll look for the PM this weekend but I hope we can catch each other.
