Face Claim: Gabriel Aubry Looks a lyrical subheading Eyes: While his eyes are narrow, lending to a seductive appearance, R’nd has extremely expressive eyes that display his emotions in flashes before he tries to reclaim a calm exterior. They are of a pale grey shade that darkens with strong emotions, usually lust, but the rare time when anger gets a hold of him has the same effect. Hair:  Dirty blonde wavy locks that hang in a tousled shaggy style may appear as if minimal attention has been spent on the ‘do but R’nd will take the time to comb and style it each morning. There are, of course, times where a tumble in and out of bed does the work for him but he somehow manages to make it work for him. Height:  6’0 General Appearance: One of the first things most notice about R’nd is his dirty blonde wavy hair with shorter strands falling against his face but typically kept styled just out of his view. The other major eye-catcher the bluerider possesses comes in the form of his beaming smile courtesy of a talented mouth. His well-shaped lips are almost feminine and likely would be called as such on a baby-faced young man but given his rugged features and ability to grow facial hair, which is often kept in a state of three-days-of-not-shaving stubble, they are oddly fitting. Perhaps it is the way they often curl into a smirk that, combined with his suggestive grey eyes, leaves R’nd looking like pure sex that earns him more compliments than complaints about his lips. His body is not that uncommon of a sight amongst dragonriders given the care dragons require. He’s acquired toned arms and upper body from turns of scrubbing Ayyonth during his baths while his legs received proper definition from uncounted hours of training a-dragonback or running around Katila either as exercise or from whatever chore assigned to him. Dressing Style: Before the plague, Orwind was all over the latest styles of fashion and had to be among the first to sport the new must-have accessory. Naturally once the weyrfolk migrated to the South it became more than a little difficult to keep up that hobby. Since Katila was established, R’nd has moved passed the mourning stage for his stagnant wardrobe and accepted that he had to work with what was on hand. Later on, after Impressing and Katila established more rules for going north he found he could ask those heading out on a Search or gathering materials to find out what styles were popular. Of course having a tailor as a friend within the weyr also has some benefits and R'nd is always willing to be a model or test subject. When it comes right down to it, he is usually seen wearing vibrant colours, preferring to stick with a more monotone look than mixing up colours. Given the climate, a lighter material is preferred but he enjoys fine leathers for his riding gear and boots, the latter of which is has several pairs of in varying lengths. Personality a lyrical subheading General Character Traits: When R’nd’s ego gets the best of him he believes himself to be the very definition of what a bluerider should be. His charisma can draw out a smile and small talk from even the shyest of souls as he knows his way around a conversation to find a way to make everyone comfortable. Unless of course he’s in a playful mood which he blames on Ayyonth and growing up with some of the weyrbrats. There are times where he can spin a teasing comment with the best of them but knows when to stop before it turns malicious and words said in jest turn sharp and leave a wound. However, coupling perfectly with his charisma is his flirtatious nature which often has him chatting someone up without realizing how suggestive he is. Typically, he knows when he’s doing it and it doesn’t matter gender or age. If R’nd feels an attraction, even at the most basic of levels, he’ll act on it. Despite all of his flirtatious and talkative ways, there is one way to earn his scorn and that’s by bringing insult to someone he calls friend. While he can view everyone within Katila as friend or family, there are a small handful of those he truly opens up to and spends most of his time with. He’s not one to simply hate another because his friend or lover does but if a friend is hurt in any way, then you can forget about having his smile, a sweet one anyway, sent your way. His protective streak has, at times, come into direct conflict with his almost naïve ability to believe there is good in everyone. When someone finds a way to lose his trust or shows an intense hatred of dragons or weyrfolk, it breaks R’nd’s heart and leaves him in a sullen mood for a short time, often with him going off to be alone until it passes and he can smile again without worrying anyone. Likes:     Sleeping In: Thanks to his flirtatious ways, R’nd sometimes lacks a full night’s rest and doesn’t always want to rise when the sun does. He’s still dedicated to his duties at the Weyr but if he can sneak in just one extra hour, he’s a happy man.     Wine:  R’nd enjoys a good night of drinking. The wine that they produce at Katila still has a long way to go before it reaches the standards of Benden, or even that of Tillek, but it does the trick whether it’s needed to drown sorrows, celebrate, or just liven up a gathering.     B’jin: R’nd suffers from a serious case of boycrush. Thanks to B’jin’s charm and outgoing personality, young R’nd was enthralled at their first meeting and decided he was a good dragonrider example. Yet even now he still won’t approach B’jin for anything sexual outside of Larrikith flying, though Ayyonth has yet to win her. Dislikes:     Liars: Luckily for R’nd he has his own lie detector, so long as Ayyonth is around, though he does well enough on his own.  While he’s fine with the occasional small fib, he simply can’t understand why anyone would lie with the intent of hurting someone.     Losing a flight: The high while caught up in a flight is intense but when you don’t come out of the trance as the winner, it’s a devastating blow that R’nd feels emotionally and physically drained from.     The method of Stealing: While he understands why it must be done, R’nd wishes there was another way to go about gaining those likely to Impress. Despite his dislike of the method, he fully supports the Weyr and would become a searchrider to do his part. He would, however, try to find a way to give the Candidate a choice.  Habits/Mannerisms: He will smile at everyone. Whether it’s just a polite greeting to his elders and the weyrbrats running around or a flirtatious, naughty grin to past and future lovers, R’nd can’t really help it. Just like he can’t help checking and fixing his hair if he’s near a reflective surface. Strengths:  R’nd is open-minded and willing to give everyone a chance. He believes that there is good in everyone and there’s a reason for a nasty attitude which could be turned around if someone stopped to find out why and cared. Because of his gentle and friendly attitude, he has the ability to stay calm under pressure and help guide others in times of a crisis or simply stay patient when others are frustrated at a situation, person, or themselves. Weaknesses: R’nd is very expressive when it comes to positive emotions, or anger if pushed enough, but when it comes to anything negative that he or anyone else has against him, he will keep it inside. He doesn’t want to worry anyone and will pretend all is well or go off alone for a time where he will mentally beat himself up for causing trouble for anyone. Even with all of his outwardly confidence and surviving the plague and travel South at such a young age, his large ego has created a fear of being rejected. He knows he’s amazing and does well in everything he attempts but someday to someone, that may just not be good enough; that he will not be good enough. His friends are important to him and while he knows it’s nonsensical, the notion that they’ll replace him often lingers in the back of his mind. Even though he genuinely enjoys playing the field, the fear of rejection is a very strong reason as to why he has never had a serious relationship. On the lighter side, R’nd has a weakness for bubbly pies and puppy dog eyes, both of which have been known to lead him astray and getting into mischief with a younger friend. His father is pleased with the eager young mind. 211~212 AL: Continues with his lessons with the harper, naturally clinging to the stories and history involving the dragons. 213 AL: Begins to think he’d much rather spend the day playing in the sun and water, not fishing and labouring away. 214 AL: Orwind is Searched and he goes with a large smile in place. 215 AL: The plague strikes. 216 AL: Orwind is 14 turns when the plague scares everyone enough to move south. Thanks to his likeliness to Impress, despite not doing so with the last clutch, the rider that Searched him (OPEN) has no family to bring with him and offers the free spot on his dragon to travel with him. 217~219 AL: Orwind learns the hard way what it’s like to fend for himself as he and his saviour learn to fish, hunt, and build a small hut to live in while under Katila’s orders to keep away from other dragons. 220~224 AL: With the call to gather given, Orwind puts his new skills to use and helps build the Weyr and get to know all of the other weyrfolk that survived the trip South. 225~226 AL: Despite Nirinath still not rising and a brown falling ill, Orwind believes everything will work out and it has not all been for nothing. 227 AL: Orwind Impresses blue Ayyonth, believes how he handled the last twelve turns has shown his worth and dedication to the community. 228 AL: Begins his second year of weyrlinghood. Everything is going smoothly until Green Pikth of Pendok and Blue Delemth of Uglor crash into each other and die. The deaths of their clutchmates affect R’nd and Ayyonth deeply and remind them that they are not invincible despite everything they have survived thus far. 229 AL: R’nd graduates from weyrling. 230~231 AL: R’nd’s been living the daily Katila life with chores, socializing, chasing after Greens flying, and even trying to help the Stolen Candidates adjust to the Weyr. Of course it hampers their speed and agility when it comes to racing against the smaller sized dragons but their size places them larger or close to a few browns which could elevate their status in a wing. His hide is of a darker shade in a rich, cerulean blue that is not a consistent colouring throughout but mingles with a slightly softer tone to give a soft marbling effect. Personality:     Likes: Much like R’nd, Ayyonth likes to keep up appearances and enjoys bathing.     Dislikes: He hates being ignored. R’nd doesn’t do it often and when it happens the man is often still more asleep than awake but patience only goes so far when you have urgent news to share.     Habits/Mannerisms: While Ayyonth doesn’t mind working, he loves having free time and spending it out sunning and will go off to do so whenever the chance presents itself. Sometimes it’s nice to just get away and relax with the sun on your back and not well-meaning and spirited kids.     Strengths: Ayyonth is extremely reliable. Even with all of his teasing and meandering off to enjoy a lazy day, if R’nd needs him, he’s there for him.      Weaknesses: Inability to tell when his teasing has gone too far.     General Personality: Like most blue dragons, Ayyonth is a hard worker and takes pride in what he does. However, he still has his moments of being playful which is likely due to a certain weyrbrat spending too much time with the pair and his personality influencing the young dragon. After all, if R’nd likes the boy then acting like him can’t be all that bad, right? Unfortunately due to that playful energy and watching the way R’nd would sometimes interact with people only strengthened Ayyonth’s own enjoyment of teasing his clutchmates though he lacks the skill in knowing when enough is enough. That being said, when Ayyonth is behaving, he gets along with the other dragons, sunning in peace together or splashing about in the river when their riders are busy elsewhere. RP Example a lyrical subheading R’nd was having the most wonderful dream involving him and two others frolicking in the pool below a gentle waterfall when something tugged at his mind, trying to release him from such beauty and euphoria. He grumbled at the disturbance and gave a low growl when a dragon’s shriek finally cut through his determination to stay in his dream world for a little longer. [color=#0066CC]R’nd! At least that was what he still wanted to be doing, anyway! But you heard, didn’t you? Larrikith is flying! In his barely conscious mind, the name and all the words surrounding it meant nothing to R’nd and he rolled over, burying himself under the sheets as if that would block out all of the external and internal noises. Wait, had a green taken flight? Did they have no concept of time? Don’t chase her. Even I need to get some sleep sometimes. Sleep had been lacking that sevenday with the amount of action he had seen both doing exercises with Ayyonth or finding new and creative ways to exercise riders and weyrfolk alike. Last night had been no different though he had parted ways with that lover at a somewhat early, in his books, time. R’nd, would you wake up and listen to me? Ayyonth was getting annoyed at being ignored, a trait R’nd blamed on Kerrin and the amount of time the brat spent with the dragon. But Ayyonth knew his mate well and knew he wouldn’t hear the end of the pouting that would come if he missed out on this attempt at Larrikith taking to the sky. Larrikith is flying. Did you forget who her rider is? B’jin! You know, the man you have been pining after for as long as you have known him? The man you somehow manage to pretend you don’t want on a normal day when you’re talking to him? Ayyonth continued speaking but it had turned more into a mumbling about silly human emotions and traditions, not that R’nd was listening now anyway. Larrikith was flying. His mind was beginning to clear and catch up with what was going on and R’nd sat up, eyes wide as he felt Ayyonth’s lust already creeping in on him, mingling with his own building desires. Then chase her! He didn’t have time to argue with his dragon and really didn’t even have time to find his clothes as he slept in the nude, though he knew from experience streaking didn’t please everyone, even if the nude body in question was his. But as he tried to rise from his bed, R’nd ended up falling to the floor, tangled as he was in the bedding. After a quick shimmying to free himself, the dance of pulling on pants while trying to walk led him through his hut and out the door. Where would B’jin be at this early hour? He sent a plea to his blue to ask around for his location and took off in an ungraceful stride toward the Dining Hall not only because it made sense for a man to go there shortly after rising but it sounded far more lively in that general area than usual at such an hour.
