Hello loves! While I haven't been writing, I have been working on updating some issues that have been hanging around on the layout! The Character change box is now at the bottom of the page, beside the up/down arrows! Green and Gold dragon flight dates have been shifted to the bottom of the page, where the (useless!) discord widget was located. Where the dragon flights were in the header, is now replaced by a Monthly Event box! This will be updated at the start of each month, with a fun mini-event you can take part in, if you want to! Hair: Straight chestnut brown hair that lightens slightly when spending too much time in the summer sun is kept long, usually nearing mid-back before she decides it’s time to trim it. She has no real preference for how she likes to wear it—down is easy and it’s fun to play with the strands, but up is practical with a ponytail or adorable with two buns on the top of her head.

General Appearance: Standing at average height, Dareji is fairly likely to blend in with any group of girls. She’s not curvy and almost lacks entirely in the chest which doesn’t help with the eye-catching, though she thinks her boobs are a lovely size for her petite and slender form. If anything was to help her stand out in a crowd, it might be the large freckle on her left cheek or perhaps her lips that can form a beautiful pout or look rather kissable thanks to the plump lower lip. Of course, it could also be that her ears are slightly on the larger side for proportions, though she finds them unique and never goes out of her way to hide them.
Dressing Style: Dareji likes simple yet cute dresses, some of which are actually men’s dress shirts that are ridiculously too big on her but still suit her. Sometimes she throws a belt on with the shirt-dress to help give it a bit more shape. Otherwise, when the task calls for it, she has no problem putting on pants. But dresses are preferred overall.

For the most part, Dareji is an outgoing girl. Not much will slow her down and she’s not afraid to be the one to make the first move whether it be simply an introduction or confessing she likes someone. Life is too short to waste on worrying about what others think and if they’ll like you the same way in return.
That’s not to say she’s rambunctious, loud, and out of control. She is a little hyper when too much sugar has been ingested or she’s having a lot of fun with friends and the situation calls for it. She’s just friendly but laidback. She figures it runs in the family given her brother is much the same way and everyone adores their father and how relaxed he is.
Of course there are times when she’ll be hit with a wave of shyness, but who doesn’t get that? If she feels like she’s out of her league for whatever reason, she’ll let someone else take control. It can also be exhausting being the charming, flirty, fabulous one all the time!
Overall, she’s just a sweet girl looking to make sure everyone else is having as much fun as she is and feels included.
Habits/Mannerisms: Twirls strands of hair when bored, thinking, or being shy which makes it fun to guess what mood she’s in. She’ll sometimes bite her pointer finger, again when nervous or thinking too much. She never actually bites her nails though, just something about (lightly) sinking her teeth into something that is calming.
Opinions:
Threadfall Theory: According to the Harpers and her brother repeating the history he’s learned over and over, it will happen again.
Stealing/Kidnapping: Kind of lame but it helped the dragons begin repopulating so it’s all good in the end.
Weryrleader S'kef: She was mostly too young to really register what was going on with him.
Firelizards: Super cute, super excited when they returned.
Women's loss of honorifics: It doesn’t really seem fair and she sometimes wonders if dragons of female riders still secretly use honorifics. But at least they are dragonriders so pick the right battles, right?
Return North: Nervous! She’d only known the small world of Katila and had heard tales of the North. Now she was going to experience it herself and it kind of scared her as much as she was excited to see what a Hold looked like and the new, well old but new again, Weyrs.
Likes:
Swimming: She’s a total water baby. She could always be found splashing around in the river near Katila when they didn’t have a day trip to the lake. It’s why she had to move to Ista Weyr when it opened. All that water called to her.
Girls: While she’s not turned off by men and has slept with a couple and possibly would again in the future, Dareji has come to realise that she prefers the company of women. There’s something so much more sensual and erotic about girls that really gets her off. She’s pretty sure if she was labelled like men usually were, she’d call herself a boobs-gal.

Resilient: Not much will keep her down or for long. Dareji has a way of bouncing back
Optimistic: Dareji will almost always see the rainbow in things. She likes the mantra everything happens for a reason. If she breaks her dominant arm, it’s to learn not to rely on it but expand into using her other arm. Her crush doesn’t like her? Then they wouldn’t have lasted long if they did try. She does try to tone it down around some people, knowing how obnoxious it can get.

Hides Her Own Pain: Being the one that tries to keep everyone else in good spirits and wants to help them through their troubles, Dareji has a bad habit of not telling anyone if something is troubling her. Nightmares, fears, even a simple worry will be kept to herself so she doesn’t bother anyone and bring them down as well. She always gets over it eventually anyway, so no need.

Background Story:
722 & Born: Dareji is born, second child to her parents.
726 & 4: Her parents decide to part ways and she lives with her mother more than with her father.
727-730 & 5-8: Mostly spends the day playing with other kids her age. Once they start getting more crafters brought in, the ‘Stolen’, Dareji finds herself getting more chances at education outside of the few dragonriders that were Harper-trained or well-learned themselves. The first Hatching after the plague in 727 was pretty cool to her but she was still too young to understand the significance of it, only deciding she wanted a small dragon too.
731 & 9: Old enough now to understand the ‘small dragons’ would grow into the large ones, Dareji still wants one of her own, though she’s now willing to wait since it seems like a lot of work to care for one!
732 & 10: Breaks her arm playing too roughly with some of the boys along the river’s edge but tells her parents she slipped on wet rocks, not wanting anyone to get in trouble.
734 & 12: After celebrating some of her friends Impressing, the landslide strikes and wipes out most of their community. She lived in the section not directly hit and is left unscathed and with her entire family intact. Not everyone she knew was as lucky. As small, weak, and unskilled as she is, Dareji does her best to help anywhere she can, usually running linens and bowls of water here and there for the Healers.
735 & 13: The move North. At first she didn’t want to go, afraid to leave behind what she knew so well. But new Katila never felt right and after a bit—not like she had a choice—Dareji warmed up to the idea and found her optimism returning and looking forward to it. Her brother also Impressed which was amazing and a good sign that everything was working out well.
736 & 14: With Fort and Ista now open, Dareji moves to Ista, missing the more constant heat and the water. Her brother and R’dal went to Fort but many other friends went to Ista as well which helped make the move easier.
738 & 16: Loses her virginity! It actually wasn’t that exciting but Dareji gives it a whirl a few more times, including girls in her attempts and starts to figure out what she’s more interested in.
739 & 17: Even she has her limits and this turn pushed her hard. The fires were devastating and she lived in constant fear that a friend or family member wouldn’t come back from fighting it back. Some lives were lost but no one that was too close to her. Unlike at the Ista Hatching earlier in the year where she saw a brown dragonet kill two girls, both of which she was friends with. The Telgar Hatching later in the year saw a gold dragonet rampaging and she was close to being in her way. Somehow she walked away with only a twisted ankle from falling during the rush of Candidates running away.
740 & 18: A mostly quiet year until Nerreh and blue Faxxonth win gold Thallyath’s maiden Flight. She’s not sure how to feel since they’re both her friends but it’s so non-conventional. In the end, she put a smile on and supported her friends, not caring about colours. She Stood for the Hatching but it broke her heart to see the death of the hatchlings and started worrying about childhood friends Madiquel and Beckitt.

Dareji was emotionally exhausted.
The mood of the Hatching hadn’t been the usual mix of cheer and nerves but one of fear and even hatred. She hated that hatred! No one meant for the Flight to end like it did and like she kept telling everyone, they were learning from it which meant they could make changes and learn and grow.
She still believed that, now that everything was said and done. Yes, they learned a blue didn’t have the strongest whatevers—she wasn’t trained in that area—to make healthy and strong hatchlings, but it had still given three Candidates a chance at being dragonriders! It had also given the Healer Hall two, or three depending on what was in the unhatched egg, bodies to study and learn more about healing dragons and what went wrong that day. Dareji was kind of glad she loitered a bit closer to the gold pair and overheard Casa’s offering.
But she was still kind of in a state of shock over how it all played out. Thanks to being among the braver Candidates that stood closer to Thallyath, Dareji had seen the gold dragon’s anger up close and never wanted to see that on any dragon ever again. She nearly wet her panties! Luckily she hadn’t, but her eyes leaked a lot as she cried over the loss of the two greens and the dud and cried again but happier this time when Misharan, Madiquel, and then Beckitt Impressed. She was so happy for them but like the whispers around her, she worried a bit about how long they would be dragonriders.
She desperately wanted to go over and hug each one and tell them she was happy for them and everything would be okay and she would help wherever she could… but they were all busy tending to their little ones and so many much more skilled people were still flocking around them that Dareji didn’t want to be a hindrance. It was like the landslide all over again, wanting to help but being in the way. She was close to asking a Healer if she could run errands for him like she had back then but figured they had it all covered for the time being. She’d ask later if it seemed like it was needed.
Dareji spotted R’dare and R’dal sitting together in the stands with F’drel there as well. She smiled, loving how R’dal could so easily befriend anyone and get them to go along with his craziness. She waved at the men and smiled brighter to show she was okay after everything she had gone through again. Truthfully, it was the first time she had Stood since the Telgar massacre and it had taken a lot of soul searching to find the courage to do it again. Being a different Sands—though still stained with the memories of its own horrible Hatching—had helped. It was also a smaller clutch and she was doing it for Casa and Nerreh, not herself. That was the main reason why she was there, especially after the Touching that had been wave after wave of misery.
Now that her motivation to Stand was gone and the weight of the memories were returning, Dareji found herself needing fresh air and getting away from the madness. Waving once more to her brother to catch his eye, she pulled at her robe a bit and pointed to the exit to make it clear she was heading out to change. Maybe she’d catch up with them later. Maybe she’d hide in her bed for a bit first and spend time with the lingering ghosts in her memories of the past Hatchings. That did not at all sound healthy but it did help her find some peace with what she had witnessed and she always promised she’d keep moving forward. Maybe that was some sort of survivor’s guilt—Healers liked to throw fancy terms around she found—but it worked for her.
