Appearance

Eyes: Light brown that are close to being classified as unremarkable. When she’s startled or even staring off into space, they do look larger and sometimes vacant, giving her the look of a doll.

Hair: Wavy brown locks that alternate from light to dark depending on the season. Length also varies from shoulder blades to mid-back, depending on when she gets annoyed with it and feels it’s time to trim it. Shorter pieces frame her face, though she doesn’t have actual fringe. It’s typically kept loose but when needed, it’s pulled back in a low pony tail.

Height: 5’8

General Appearance: Unlike her half-brothers, T’ryn and Ayontay, who are spitting images of their father, Mylorah takes after her mother in almost everything but height. Being slightly above average in height for women, Mylorah comes across as lithe due to her slim shape and smaller bust. Most of her height is in her legs with a rather uneventful torso that has just enough curves for her to tease with.

She has high cheekbones and when she smiles – which is often and bright – she appears to have chipmunk cheeks, giving her a slightly pudgier-looking face. Her short nose doesn’t help either, leaving her looking younger than she actually is.

Dressing Style: On hot days, the less the best! She likes tops and dresses that have little to no sleeves. Modesty is not something that weighs her down and low cut tops and even short dresses or shorts fill her wardrobe. When she has to behave, proper dresses are worn and sometimes even pants if the chore or task for the day calls for it.

Personality

General Character Traits: Mylorah is a rather even-tempered and bubbly girl. She doesn’t see the need in getting angry or getting into fights and if she does, then it’s for something or someone she deeply cares about. Typically, she’ll go with the flow and do her best not to rock the boat. Attention is nice, but she doesn’t want to attract the wrong sort or be judged as a troublemaker.

Mylorah tends to see the good in everyone, even the bully and troublemaker she doesn’t want to be. There’s likely a good reason why they do what they do and maybe they just need someone to listen to them. She’ll do her best to be that person and often her cheerful disposition will at least earn her a new friend, though she likely didn’t change who they are.

She comes across as naïve or far too innocent for her own good, and while she is genuinely sweet, sometimes she plays up the innocence. She knows what is expected of her both as a woman and a potential goldrider so for the right people, she’ll make sure they see the right side of her that is innocent, pliable, and even a bit dumb. Sometimes, though, it’s not an act and she really is blissfully unaware of more serious issues.

Mylorah can also have her ditzy moments. It stems from a gullibility that surfaces when someone is especially good at spinning tall tales that she can’t discern fact from fiction. Daydreaming while doing chores also leaves her in the awkward position of not knowing what’s going on even though she was there the entire time. Some of her friends refer to this as Ditzy Mitzy making her appearance known.

Like most ‘R’nd Kids’, Mylorah suffers from bouts of insecurity and even abandonment issues. Her father had moved on to his next love interest before even knowing her mother was pregnant. It’s hard to feel worthwhile when your father doesn’t know you exist. She has yet to form a true attachment to anyone, but Mylorah also struggles with getting close to someone because they might end up leaving her. That’s also a large portion of why she doesn’t want to have kids. What if the dad leaves her before she even knows she’s pregnant, or because of it?

Habits/Mannerisms: Mylorah likes to play with her hair. Whether it’s from tossing it over one shoulder to the other or simply twirling it around her fingers. And while she tries not to, she is sometimes seen biting her finger nails, a habit she is trying to stop.

Opinions:
Threadfall Theory: Horrible! Hopefully it won’t return again.
Stealing/Kidnapping: Made sense at the time. Probably. She likes the way things are now. A lot less whining.
Weryrleader S'kef: He was a bit scary but he never did anything to her so he’s all right. He’s also easy on the eyes.
Firelizards: Absolutely adorable! Sometimes a pain but endless entertainment and companionship.
Women's loss of honorifics: Seems a bit rude to take away from those that had that honour for decades, but she likes her name enough that she doesn’t mind that she’ll never be something silly like M’ah.
Return North: Why do they have to go? Katila was perfect!

Likes:
Being Outside: Mostly she prefers to be outside for swimming, lazing in the sun, and some sports. She doesn’t like having to do manual labour where she’s left hot and sweaty and nothing fun to show for it.
Her Siblings: She’s closest to her half-brothers T’ryn and Korlin. She actually grew up with Korlin and he’s always looked after her. T’ryn was the first to pull her into the secret ‘R’nd Kid’ club and quickly became someone she could rely on and call friend. Ayontay and a couple of the sisters aren’t bad either, though she doesn’t often seek them out for company.
Sex: While she currently (as of 739) is still discovering the joys, later on Mylorah will find sex has multiple uses. It’s a good way to relieve stress, pass the time, and bond with someone. While her romantic side knows it should be something special between two people, she still typically sees it as something to enjoy with anyone close to her that she calls friend or is attracted to. She is very much her father’s daughter in that regard.

Dislikes:
Judgemental People: While she can be accused of that by judging how hot someone is, Mylorah is more against people who turn their nose up at others who aren’t as smart or privileged at them.
Kids: They’re loud, dirty, and need a lot of attention. She can be a bit too self-absorbed and absent-minded to give the proper attention to a child. If she ever finds herself pregnant, she will find someone else to raise the kid.
Needlework: She wanted to like it, she really did! It seemed like a nice quiet activity to pass the time with either alone or within a group but it’s rather boring and if her mind wanders, she ends up stabbing herself when working with sharp needles or messing up her counting and pattern when knitting or crocheting.

Strengths:
Strong-willed/Determined: She might be ditzy and naïve, but she’s still weyrbred and tough. Nothing keeps her down for long and she’ll continue on her current path regardless of bumps.
Charismatic: If nothing else shows she’s a child of R’nd, her easy way with people and charming them definitely does. She’s easy to get along with and casts a smile at anyone she crosses paths with.
Compassionate: She wants to help everyone she’s capable of and even those that she knows she can’t, she’ll try to find someone else who can.

Flaws:
Scatter-brained: Sometimes she forgets she’s supposed to be somewhere or that she promised even the smallest of task. A reminder from someone who knows her schedule isn’t frowned upon and she has taken to writing down her tasks in daily lists in a small pocket book T’ryn commissioned for her.
Insecure: While it’s not uncommon for riders to not claim or help raise their child, it has left Mylorah feeling a bit insecure about her place in the world and wondering if someone would actually be able to love her and stay with her. This doubt sometimes hinders her in other areas that involve creating with her hands.
Impulsive: If she takes too long to decide something, she ends up wavering and fretting over the decision. So she’s adapted to just going with her gut and jumping at a chance that comes her way and making decisions. It doesn’t always work in her favour.
Naïve: Because of her desire to help everyone and be friends with everyone, she doesn’t always see the ugliness in someone or that she’s being taken advantage of.

Background Story:
721 & 0: Mylorah is born. She is the result of a whirlwind romance between her mother and R’nd.
722-725 & 1-4: Spends most of her time in the crèche while her mom helps out in the kitchen and laundry.
728 & 7: Her mother gives birth to a son with the greenrider she settled down with a turn earlier.
728-733 & 7-12: Starts attending lessons with riders or Stolen Candidates that have Harper training. At first she hates it and can’t really concentrate as she wants to play but slowly starts to accept it and finds some of the history interesting.
734 & 13: The landslide happens at night while everyone is asleep. Most of their hut was destroyed from the impact and her mother and younger brother die. While the greenrider stepdad has always been nice to them, he says he can’t continue to look after them without thinking about his mate and their son. With nothing else to call their own, Mylorah and her surviving brother take to helping look after the younger kids while the adults rebuild. She knows who her real dad is but also knows he wouldn’t be able to take her in or likely know how to raise a daughter.
735 & 14: With everyone moving North again, Mylorah almost wonders if she can stay in Katila with the older riders that want to retire. She likes it there and doesn’t want to be shuffled around and seen as a nuisance. In the end, she’s ordered to go, like everyone else. While still too young to Stand, she’s still housed with the Candidates. Again she considers briefly asking R’nd to take her in but also knows how intimate he is with B’jin and wouldn’t want a kid around.
736 & 15: Ista and Fort are now open. Her friends are scattered about to help plan for future clutches. Mylorah decides to go to Ista, missing the near-constant sunshine and warmth.
738 & 16: Realises that while boys are cute and fun to play with, Mylorah finds women are just as attractive and she considers finding out about how fun they are as well.
739 & 18: After her 18th birthday in month two, Mylorah was informed that any time a gold egg is clutched regardless of the Weyr, she will be shuffled off to prepare for it. She’s not fond of the idea of being passed around and used like that, but she does like the idea of being a goldrider and having her own dragon and space to call her own again.

Education Details: She’s had very basic education provided by various dragonriders and Candidates with Harper training. Most of it was boring but history sparked her interest a bit and she’s been told she has very fine penmanship.

Sometimes she felt like N’mor didn’t like her. He seemed to tolerate her because her half-brother T’ryn liked to spend time with her. Mylorah had to admit, she originally thought that friendship was odd when she started spending more time with her bronzeriding brother – who was known simply as Telrynd at the time – and she had been right in eventually calling him out on befriending the kid because he was the son of their dad’s current love interest. But she didn’t think the friendship would last and was pleased when she was proven wrong. It was kind of amazing to see such a strong friendship, one that only deepened after the devastation of the landslide. She had lost a half-brother and her mother that horrifying night so it was nice to focus on the positive that came out of it, like N’mor living and a friendship flourishing.

Mylorah sometimes still spent time with the pair when she could but given they were both bronzeriders and she was a lowly Candidate, it was hard to line up free time. She still believed N’mor dodged her at times as well, but today wasn’t going to be one of those days. She had decided the bronzerider was far too happy lately and it was her belief that that meant he was seeing someone. Everyone was happier when they were in a relationship, or at least having great sex. Either way, she was dying to know who it was.

Honestly, that desire was born slightly of jealousy as she may have had a crush on N’mor at one point before deciding his surliness wasn’t as charming as she initially thought. Mostly, though, she was genuinely curious to know who finally stole his heart, or at least awakened his libido because it always seemed like T’ryn and N’mor were more interested in each other’s company than finding a woman to warm their beds.

So it was Mylorah made her way across the Weyr to N’mor’s door. She thought about visiting her brother instead but the curiosity was too much and she knocked even as she opened the door slightly and called out his name to announce her presence.
