Gabrin

[color=#948BA7]First Name: Gabrin
Pronounced: Gaa-brin
Nicknames: N/A at this moment
Primary Rank: Lord Holder’s Third Son
Secondary Rank: Bored Troublemaker
Place of Birth: High Reaches Hold
Date of Birth: 02.08.210 AL
Wife: Tanriel (Currently NPC, open for adoption even if I LPC)
Threadfall Theory: “What do I care? I live in a Hold with sturdy walls and a roof and I’m not a farmer. It doesn’t concern me one way or the other.”
Dragonrider Response: “Cool. They do make travelling so much easier and quicker! Kind of a dick move vanishing for so long like they did but I’m sure we can come to beneficial mutual understandings.”
Missing Crafters Response: When the rumours started of missing Crafters, Gabrin believed them to be dead or simply runaways. Since it continued for some time and then stopped abruptly, he thinks there’s something more but only enjoys the rumours and conspiracies without a solid opinion. His favourite, however, is the one about Holders stealing and selling the missing people into slavery.
Approved Special Features: Lord Holder’s third son
Face Claim: Joseph Morgan
Looks

]
[color=#948BA7]Eyes: Versatile brown eyes that darken and harden when angry or can be a warm rich chocolate brown when playful or flirty.
Hair: Extremely light brown that some would argue as being dirty blonde. Gabrin keeps it cut short since that is not only easier but his hair is curly and keeping it short keeps the curls at bay.
Height: 6’0
General Appearance:
Gabrin’s height comes mostly due to his legs. His long and slender form appears even more that way thanks to the limbs that keep on going. Most prefer to see a woman with such a feature, especially one that likes to show a little skin to entice, and Gabrin was teased when he was younger due to his long and scrawny legs but he likes them. In his opinion, they’re all the better to wrap around a lover.
His build is slight, with only the barest hint of muscle definition on display when his shirt if removed. He doesn’t like or really believe in menial labour (that’s what servants and peasants are for!) so any muscle he can lay claim to is from sports or running around the Hold for one reason or another.
His face is very angular with his square jaw and defining cheek bones. It’s possibly counted as the most masculine physical feature he possesses, especially considering his perfectly shaped and kissable lips that border on the type better found on a woman. The fact that he can grow a bit of stumble evenly enough to count as done intentionally helps keep him safe from too many insults from the burlier men lurking around his usual stomping grounds.
Dressing Style:
Gabrin knows how to dress to impress when he has to thanks to growing up in Holds that hosted parties and the way he was paraded around. He cleans up well with suits tailored to his body in the latest colour and style trends. Otherwise, while his clothing is still all custom-made, Gabrin’s everyday attire is casual with typically only one layer of a form a fitting shirt. When he is in an exceptionally lazy mood, one of his baggier shirts is tossed on and left untucked.

[color=#948BA7]General Character Traits:
Gabrin is, in short, a playful man that loves getting into mischief and seeing what he can get away with.
He comes across as fun-loving and easy-going to most people but that’s just part of the rouse. Gabrin is an actor that puts on a show for everyone, allowing them to see what he wants them to see. He enjoys messing with minds and hardly takes anything seriously; unless it directly affects him in some way. So long as he’s entertained, Gabrin’s not concerned with the outcome of his actions. On the flip side, he doesn’t like being on the receiving end of pranks or mind games and finds them to be rather foolish since revenge is always so easily tended to.
His public persona is sweet and kind with a sense of humour. He’s a guy that likes to have fun, go on adventures, and get into mischief with his friends. While that’s not entirely untrue, his usual tastes run a bit deeper and darker than the gentile folk he was raised around can handle. Gabrin will easily make someone’s life a living nightmare and do his best to never be caught at it, acting just as shocked and upset as anyone else when he hears of the horrible incidents the poor lad suffered through.
He’s not a complete saint, however, as he does love to wine and romance any woman and man whether single or not. His wife’s bed is visited only when a husband’s duty calls but Gabrin is often elsewhere, enjoying his time more freely with serving staff or the visiting lord’s eligible sons and daughters. There are also a small handful of people that know how devious and calculating he can be but Gabrin keeps them close and keeps an even closer eye on them. It’s hard to say if he trusts them completely but they are usually accomplices in some way to activities.
All that said, he still has an ego and can’t help but brag when something especially wonderful goes his way. He is, after all, a Lord Holder’s son and even if he’s only the third son, he’s still high born and in line for a title so his status sometimes goes to his head and he forgets his games, showing that he is above most everyone else.
Likes:
Deception: Gabrin has fun pretending he’s something he’s not whether it be straight, a loyal husband, or sweet. There’s something enjoyable about leading people to believe what you want them to see and not what is actually in front of them. On the flip side, however, he hates being deceived and will never forget the slight.
Anything that starts with ‘fine’: A fine wine, fine lay, or fine food; it doesn’t matter to Gabrin so long as it’s among the best quality it suits his tastes and he finds it worthy of his time.
His feline: If it makes Gabrin look a little sweeter and softer, than that’s fine and simply bonus points but Gabrin actually loves his little fluff ball Buttercup and will kick anyone’s ass that is cruel to her.
Dislikes:
Swimming: Gabrin is not the strongest swimmer and prefers to stay away from large bodies of water. He’ll still put on a good show, strutting around the beach and even going into shallow water but he has no intentions of drowning or showing that he can’t swim no matter who he’s with.
Chatty women: He wouldn’t necessarily say he had no use for women but he does like the saying ‘women should be seen and not heard.’ Some can chat for hours on end about mundane things and Gabrin simply can’t be bothered to catch a word of it. Let them make clothes, serve him meals, and lay beneath him in a bed but they don’t need to run their mouths endlessly.
Virgins: Gabrin hates virgins and has made it his life goal to personally correct this status of the poor men and women afflicted by it.
Habits/Mannerisms: Gabrin will often roll his eyes behind the speaker’s back as a way to see if his friend that can see him will laugh. A foot will often be found propped up on another chair or the table when Gabrin is lounging comfortably somewhere.
Strengths: Gabrin has a great sense of humour. He loves to laugh whether with someone, at their expense, or at a joke. He may contain it at times when he’s playing a certain role for the day but that simply goes along with it since in the end, he’s making fun of someone and teasing them after the fact whether they’re aware or not. Life is short, might as well enjoy it with a laugh!
Self-regulation comes into play regularly when Gabrin begins a night of drinking. He knows when he’s reached his limit so as not to embarrass himself or get sick and generally knows when he’s had enough or done enough against someone else.
Gabrin has natural leadership abilities that make for a confidence man that doesn’t shy away from giving out orders or simply expecting everyone to defer to him.
Flaws: One would not call Gabrin a prude. He can be calculating to avoid major issues but he still takes some unnecessary risks and has no concept of regret; unless it didn’t give him the right outcome.
Thanks to his rank, Gabrin has troubles in treating everyone fairly. He sees servants as well beneath him and to be used as he sees fit and others of similar rank, while still used as pawns for his game, are treated with a bit more respect.
Gabrin lacks in modesty and humility. He will make sure everyone knows when he did something exceptionally well.
Forgiveness is not something Gabrin gives freely. If he believes you slighted him in any way, it’s unlikely you’re ever to be forgiven and go on with life without some sort of punishment.

As usual, the journey to Telgar was a long one. It was unpleasant and boring to begin with but now he had a wife and daughter to contend with as well. At least his wife served as a bed warmer at every inn they stopped at along the way. The child simply cried when hungry or wanted more attention and that wasn’t something Gabrin was very good at giving and only put in as much effort and energy as was required to suitably convince all the travel companions that he was a wonderful father and his own father wouldn’t have a thing to complain about. Then again, it was likely his father was still grumbling about the way his youngest son was once again wandering off. Gabrin knew, however, that Lord Jaebrin liked having one less son to look after and keep an eye on in case there was a sudden desire to be not only the next in line for the title but at the start of it.
Still, it would be worth it in the end when Telgar was once more in sight and all the fun toys were his once more to play with. One of his favourites came in the form of Khoemi, his now brother-in-law, that liked to pretend he didn’t enjoy himself on the night they shared together. It was always fun to pick on the man with heavy flirting and trying to corner him alone. In fact, Gabrin had returned to Telgar more or less solely for Khoemi and picking up the game of seducing the man. There were a few other reasons but they paled in comparison to the flirting.
Once they arrived, Gabrin gave all the proper greetings and respect to the main branch of the family as he left the servants and his wife to move their belongings back into the rooms that had been his for most of his life. It was almost sad how Telgar felt more like home than High Reaches but such was the way of life for a third son. At least Telgar was fun and had some interesting drama to go with it!
As soon as he could, Gabrin excused himself so he could go run an important message to someone else. His return would have been announced and the rumours would have spread to everyone within the Hold long before his caravan came up the path but Gabrin knew the exact timing still wouldn’t be known and his knock at the door would be a surprise.
Well, if he knocked, that was.
Gabrin let himself into the room that he knew Khoemi spent a lot of his time in and peered around for the man. When he wasn’t spotted in the main room, Gabrin silently moved through it and peeked in through another door. Khoemi was spotted instantly and a smirk played over Gabrin’s lips as he stepped inside, pleased that the annoying wife was nowhere to be seen. “Hey, babe. I’m here to reclaim what’s mine.”
