B’jin’s expression softened notably as R’nd placed a soft kiss on his knuckles, and the greenrider shifted to curl closer to his lover, stretching one leg lazily over R’nd’s, resting his head on R’nd’s shoulder as he watched their hands. Half listening to R’nd’s words, and half to the soft rumble of his voice through his chest, B’jin smiled lazily, though the expression was broken when he laughed with sudden amusement at R’nd.
“I don’t think she needs any more dresses, love.” The greenrider had seen Amorandii’s wardrobe since she’d been fostered by his sister, and he was quite positive that Lady Amarilla had played no small part in filling the child’s collection with dresses in every style and colour available; B’jin hadn’t even known some of those dyes existed! “I took her to get fitted for a new pair of boots last week. You can co-sign if you want.” Half teasing, half serious, B’jin licked R’nd’s cheek and laughed, pleased with his teasing. The idea of R’nd settling down enough to have a gift be from both of them and not bring one of his own amused B’jin. He wasn’t against such a thing, he just didn’t think R’nd was quite ready for that step yet – even if it had been six years.
“She doesn’t have much jewellery,” B’jin offered, cuddling close again and listening contentedly to the sound of R’nd breathing. “I had planned to get A’dris to make her some glass beads for a necklace, but he’s been busy.” The greenrider was clearly grumbling as he spoke; while he’d apparently outgrown his crush on the young bronzerider, the fact that the man was too busy to make a gift for Amorandii didn’t sit too well with B’jin. His daughter was important, and it was important that she got the best gifts his lousy Weyrlingmaster wage could buy her!
“Maybe you’d have better luck?” Lifting his head, B’jin placed a kiss on R’nd’s jawline, moving along to nuzzle against his ear with warm breath, breathing soft laughter, his insulted feelings from moments before clearly forgotten. “He’s not scared of you.” Somehow, the bronzerider had heard by some obscure means of B’jin’s opinion on the man (who didn’t find the kid attractive?!). It had been Turns and Turns, but something about it seemed to worry young A’dris. B’jin giggled again, using his free hand to roam down R’nd’s chest. Well, it was A’dris’ problem and B’jin was more than happy with the lover he’d found in R’nd.
