Ranedaren smiled as the first Impression was made. No matter his own nerves, it was always good to see dragonets finding who they were supposed to be with. Growing up in a Weyr ensured he never wanted to see harm come to a dragon, even if some of their riders were complete jerks. So it was a bit of a surprise when the blue that hatched next didn’t seem intent on going to find his bonded. Ranedaren was a bit worried that the blue would between at any moment but it gave a soft cry instead, clearly hoping the boy he was meant for would come to him.
He gasped when something shifted within him and he took a step forward. The blue was calling to him. Kadaisicalth needed him to come collect him. Ranedaren’s eyes went wide as he realised he knew the dragonet’s name and felt how suddenly hungry he was despite his nerves keeping him from wanting to eat anything not too long ago. He was still in shock but with every step that brought him to the dragonet, a goofy grin slowly spread over lips. He had Impressed!
“Hi,” Ranedaren greeted the little blue and brushed a bit of sand off his nose. Kadaisicalth got to his feet and gave a chirp of approval and Ranedaren could do nothing more than smile brightly. He finally glanced up to the crowd and found his dad smiling as well and looking proud as he clapped hands and backs with some of his friends, including R’nd who looked just as thrilled as R’jit. That made it all worth it. Ranedaren was still a bit worried he wouldn’t live up to the standards those two set for being a wonderful bluerider but so far, he was pretty happy with where he was.
The new pair slowly shuffled over to the side where buckets of food were waiting but stopped long enough to tell the Weyrlingmaster their names. Still far too happy that he bonded to find any objections with the honorific or to even roll it around on his tongue and find it amazing, Ranedaren simply repeated what his quiet dragonet had told him on the walk before going to eat.
“R’dare of blue Kadaisicalth.”
