If she had not been so embarrassed by her mistake, Amarilla probably would have found the entire situation – and most notably, the horrified responses of the men – highly entertaining. It was probably for the best that she didn’t start laughing at them both, since she’d just met one and the other she knew had buttons – or used to know, at any rate. When R’nd saved her (such a strange name!), and the situation was shifted to the past, Amarilla gave him a thankful smile.
“You are right, of course!” Amarilla nodded her head, and flashed a smile at B’jin as he stepped up beside her to be more with the group. The greenrider’s expression was both thankful for R’nd’s easy handling of the situation, and utterly perplexed at how the lovely lady he’d always thought so smart could possibly come to such a conclusion that he and R’nd were related. He wisely opted not to comment on that, however, and let the conversations be steered away from such heinous thoughts.
“I was not prepared for an extra stomach,” the playful scolding from Amarilla was enhanced with a light slap across B’jin’s chest and a wink at R’nd, “But if we can control Benjinamor’s sticky fingers, there should be enough for everyone.” Amarilla smirked and tossed her head smugly as B’jin pouted and she took R’nd’s hand to lead the bluerider over to the small basket not far away, in which were a selection of Telgar sweets.
B’jin wriggled on the spot, just behind R’nd, as he fought between the desire to pout childishly, and the need to eat delicious goodies. After a few short seconds, he darted around both past and present lover, to scoop up the basket and dash to the other side of the clearing with a wicked little laugh, sticking his tongue out over his shoulder at them both.
“Benjinamor!” Amarilla’s voice was exasperated amusement, and she gave R’nd a shove to help her chase down the greenrider. “Some people clearly never grow up!”
