K’tir raised an intrigued brow at the confession that Gabrin was off doing his own thing, leaving Ekshan alone but wisely didn’t make any comments on it. It was nice to see the master had let his pet off the leash for the night and the brownrider was more than willing to jump into the vacancy left behind. Ekshan was full of questions but it was a genuine interest that spurred them on and K’tir didn’t sense any games in it just like Ghaeth didn’t seem to think there was anything hostile about the man. Ekshan was a good-looking guy that was chatty but friendly and knew when silence was the better route. No wonder a little lordling like Gabrin had taken an interest in him.
“I will happily play the role of familiar face and keep you company until tomorrow,” K’tir replied lightly with a smile ghosting over his lips. There were implications in his words and it may have been concerned mean to tease Ekshan but he liked the way the younger man flushed so easily before slowly adapting to the situation. “If you’ll permit it, of course. We can converse some more and expand on the ground we have in common.” It was rather obvious to him, a man that grew up in a Weyr and saw it on a regular basis, that Ekshan had an interest in men but his upbringing left him confused and living in the shadows. K’tir guessed it was why Gabrin had drawn the man to him for whatever his purposes were. But K’tir specialized in secrets when it came to lovers, having both a bronze and brownrider quietly slipping into his bed at times in the cover of night and pretending nothing happened the moment they walked out the door. It amused K’tir and the sex was excellent enough that his lips never flapped about the hook-ups.
“Shall we procure a bottle of wine and a quiet spot to continue chatting? It seemed like you had more questions time didn’t allow for at the Hatching.” He wasn’t above getting drunk with Ekshan and seeing what happened. In fact, it sounded extremely appealing to the brownrider that didn’t have any responsibilities or plans that night.
