L'ton.. It is making noises again, a slightly perplexed voice echoed about his skull. A blue eye cracked open and took in the russet brown snout two inches from his face. His eyes flew open and he yelped as he scrambled back. What? What is it?! Some kind of thing to eat you? the startled brown asked hurriedly, worry tinging his whirling eyes a dull yellow. "No.." he started, clearing the sleep from his throat, "No, Kaliqueth, there's nothing there to eat me. You just startled me is all!" He hadn't expected to wake with the nostril of a dragon inches from his face and it would seem that he had forgotten something while he slept.
You'd never really forget me, L'ton. You just forgot to dream so it couldn't remind you, the brown reasoned with a whimsical tone. L'ton shook his head at the light hearted tone of his dragon's voice. A sharp squeal punctuated his thoughts and L'ton glanced wryly at Kaliqeuth, "Come on. Lets feed your complaining stomach and get out to the river!" So that's what that thing is called! A stomach, uh? Lets feed it before it starts talking again! L'ton's laughter echoed behind him as he lead his awkward brown to eat.
L'ton and his brown skirted around the others as he made a beeline for the head of the group. He wanted to be sure he knew what he needed to know and the front was where it was at. He mumbled apologies as he stepped on a toe here and there, Kaliqueth following behind him with an ambling gait. The little brown was awkward and his tail dropped and L'ton whispered, "Keep it up off the ground, Kal," Hmm? "Your tail, keep it up off the ground." L'ton was rewarded for his persistence when, giving it a quizzical look, Kaliqueth lifted the wayward appendage off the ground.
They settled in their chosen spot and L'ton grinned at B'jin as he started his lecture with a thorough exam of the little gold. Boy she's little! the brown chuckled and L'ton sent him a blistering glare, "Shhh!" Well she is. Jests out of the way, Kaliqueth and his rider listened attentively as B'jin explained the need for oiling hides. It wouldn't do for him to allow Kaliqueth to scar because he ignored him. Kaliqueth's stomach took that moment to gurgle and his hand shot up, "Will Kaliqueth always be hungry?"
