B’jin shifted his hand slightly, watching as the little gold firelizard curled up in the palm of his hand, her tail twining around his thumb, as he pointedly dismissed Larrikith and wandered a few steps back to where D’hys had run to. The greenrider’s eyes were amused and a smirk was on his own lips as he glanced up at D’hys; it looked simply like he was highly amused by the whole situation that had developed. In truth, however, B’jin was highly entertained by the fact that D’hys had run away from one of Pern’s tiniest dragons. Big scary bluerider, and he ran away from the itty bitty green! To say nothing of the gold snot, Larrikith put in, her tone reeking of venom and the dragon stood back where she’d been left, glaring heatedly at the whole group of them. B’jin literally waved dismissively at her and did not bother to answer.
“Huh?” B’jin blinked at D’hys before frowning as he went over the words the bluerider had spoken. “Oh…” brown eyes shifted from the other rider, to look at the lounging dragon with apprehension. He was huge, and B’jin’s eyebrows drew together even as his eyes widened. He wouldn’t even know how to start climbing up onto Zeianth! “Thanks…” How to get out of it? He glanced back at D’hys, and leaned his weight backwards, though he did not actively retreat. “That’s okay. Larri will take me home. Or Veeth or Ayyonth will come and get me.” They were nice, safe, little dragons and B’jin knew he could climb up onto them, even if they were awkward to ride compared to Larrikith and he didn’t like the lack of bond or the strange differences in their neck ridges and their overall sizes.
He dropped his gaze to the tiny sleeping gold, and watched her breathe quietly as he shifted his weight uncomfortably. He would get on Zeianth if D’hys demanded it, and his body language said that as clearly as it said he really, really did not want to. It would probably piss off Larrikith, which would have been fun if he had not already upset her. Moreover, R’nd would not like it, because for some reason he did not like the other bluerider, though B’jin had not really seen any issues with D’hys and did not understand why R’nd seemed to get uptight when he was brought up, but it would be better not to upset his lover after upsetting his dragon and besides… B’jin was not quite sure how R’nd would react to him having gone and Impressed a firelizard.
Larrikith was mad at him, and R’nd would be upset with him when he got home, and D’hys would probably be upset with him for being rude. Everyone was upset with him! B’jin pouted, and glanced up at D’hys from through his eyelashes, looking for all the world like a child waiting to be scolded for getting into things he’d been told countless times not to touch.
