He hadn’t expected to get so lucky and enjoy himself after another disappointing Hatching but the words, even lacking in venom, had been expected even less. How could he blame her for hating him, though? Ryvian wasn’t too fond of himself right then either. He failed to Impress when his twin had and then was such a mess of a human that Indivara had to help him bathe and then gave him pity sex. Or maybe she was using him for sex since she had gone months without it and he was a perfect target. In the end, Ryvian was willing to say he didn’t care what the reason was since he still got laid by a girl he liked.
“It’s okay that you hate me,” he whispered, gaze locked on the wall across the room since looking at Indivara right then had the potential to push him into the tears he had been holding back since Nyvian walked off with his dragonet. Still, he didn’t want to give her the wrong idea by avoiding her in anyway and forced himself to look back at the woman that had glared so nicely and Ryvian offered her a soft smile in return. “I still like you.” He almost laughed with the words, wondering if that really made everything okay and balanced out the hate or if Indivara wanted to be liked. Ryvian wasn’t sure if he could actually handle a friend hating him and while the words weren’t delivered with malicious intent, they had still stung. The fact that Indivara still sat in his lap and played with his hair had kept Ryvian from giving Indivara space.
Suddenly realizing Indivara was all he had left now that he had been replaced by a dragon at Nyvian’s side, Ryvian pulled Indivara tight to him, hugging her and now the one to bury his face in her neck. After some length of time, Ryvian pulled back and smiled again as if nothing was out of the ordinary that day. “Would you like me to go find those spare clothes for you so we can go get you fed?” He had worked up an appetite but food still didn’t seem too appealing but he was certain Indivara was in need of some.
