Isscer frowned at the egg, at his palm where it laid on the egg's shell. A sudden, pressing sense of claustrophobia invaded his mind, fear twisting deep in his gut. Thank the First Egg that he had not eaten much for breakfast--if he had, Isscer had no doubt that it would have been brought up all over the Sands. "I'm... sorry," he mumbled under his breath, embarrassed at talking to an egg, though he figured if the dragonet inside could affect him in such a way they could feel his regret and fear in kind. "It won't be much longer now."
He truly was horrid at being reassuring, and after a moment of trying to think very hard of happy things Isscer gave up. His hand slipped from the egg shell, and the Farmcrafter flexed it gingerly. Touchings had never been his favorite part of the Hatching process; more often than not they simply made him uncomfortable. While he typically only touched one egg, this was a special case; it was unheard of that two Golds had to share the Sands. It was this sense of strangeness, including a healthy sense of duty, that had Isscer moving away from Okalinath's much larger clutch and towards Krypth's, determined to touch at least one egg from each group.
Spying Ryvian (and remembering what happened at the last Touching), Isscer made a point to avoid his fellow candidate. Selecting an egg that was as far away from Ryvian as possible, Isscer settled a hand on the egg shell, just wanting to get this over with so he could go back to something more productive.
