Appearance
Hair: Dark brown nearly black and generally worn short.
Height: 6’1”
General Appearance: A'dis resembles his mother far more than he looks like his father. His eyes are an expressive green in color surrounded by thick lashes and they sit beneath rather heavy brows. A'dis' hair is thick and a very dark brown that is almost back. He has a well shaped nose settled between sharp cheek bones. A stubborn chin is dented with a small dimple.
A'dis has an open smile, though it is not as common as it should or used to be. He is a well built man, with broad shoulders and a somewhat wide chest. He is slender hipped and long legged. He often has the beginnings of a beard, something he's allowed since he was able to grow one.
Dressing Style: A'dis is seldom seen in much else besides pants and shirts. He rarely dresses up but will if he has too. He is rather tidy with his appearance and will often be late for what ever appointment he has if it means he'll be clean and neat in dress.
His tidy behavior with his own dress translates into how his riding leathers and harnesses look. They are always clean and well kept, never needing unexpected repairs. Obaranth, as well, must suffer his rider's need to be clean (this really isn't a hardship as the big bronze enjoys the attention) and A'dis keeps him just as tidy and well kempt as himself.
Personality
A'dis is a serious man though he has his moments of random fun. He tries to be cheerful when the situation calls for it, a habit he learned from childhood when confronted with the viciousness of his father, and will go out of his way to make sure the children of the weyr are happy and healthy. His serious nature has created a man who tries to remain rational even in the most irrational of situations. He is often the voice of reason when others would rather fight and A'dis is a peacemaker. He'd rather compromise than throw a punch and does not appreciate it when he can't do this. When something like this happens, he has no issue with defending himself and has learned how to throw a fist well enough to put his opponent on the ground.
Sometimes A'dis is overly sensitive, which was seen in the tears he shed when meeting his sister for the first time. A harsh word can be taken to heart and A'dis will turn it over and over in his mind until Obaranth has had enough and speaks sharply to him. He knows he has no reason to be so sensitive but when you grow up as unloved as he was, its not easily put aside. As with most bronzeriders and with much the same ferocity as Obaranth, A'dis can be arrogant, he's among the best of the weyr and he's not afraid to let people know. There was a reason a bronze dragonet chose him and he knows it.
Habits/Mannerisms: A'dis tends to tap his fingers when he's nervous and also has a bad habit of chewing his finger nails.
Opinions:
Threadfall Theory: It'll probably happen but a guy can hope.
Stealing/Kidnapping: Didn't understand it when it happened but later on knew it was necessary
Firelizards: Hasn't known anything else
Return North: Who wouldn't want to have an adventure?
Likes:
Obaranth: It goes without saying that A’dis likes his dragon. Obaranth is his best friend.
Firelizards: They’re sneaky and squirrely. He's always had an instant like for them because of these traits.
Children: A'dis adores children and often laments the fact that he has yet to father any. He thinks he would make a wonderful father.
Dislikes:
Tunnelsnakes: Like most rational people, A’dis dislikes the creatures.
Being dirty: A’dis is not a fan of being dirty. He has an almost OCD like obsession with being as clean as possible.
Flights: Obaranth hasn’t won any yet but he knows that there is a possibility the bronze will fly a male ridden green and it weirds him out to think of it.
Strengths:
Rational: A'dis is extremely rational, except for when he's not. He is always the voice of reason when there is any kind of fight happening.
Cheerful: A'dis tries to remain as cheerful as he can, though he is more often serious than cheerful.
Charming: A'dis is charming when he wants to be, knowing when to say those things that make people happy.
Flaws:
Sensitive: A'dis is a bit more sensitive than his father had hoped for. He can burst into tears when overcome with emotion and there are times the bronzerider takes any slight straight to his heart.
Forgetful: A'dis can be quite forgetful at times, more often than not forgetting names and rank of people he's only seen once or twice. Obaranth is the one who reminds him where his boots are.
Arrogant: Where A'dis can sometimes be as arrogant as his brownriding father. He knows he's better than most and sometimes does not know how to censor that.
History
Father: A'mad of Midranth, b.673
Rank: Brownrider
Mother: Amara of Nolith, b. 691
Rank: Greenrider
Siblings:
Ameris ofGold Mizeath (only known sibling)
Past Lovers/Partners: N/A
Current Lovers/Partners: N/A
Children: N/A
Background Story:
720 & 0: Amaradis was born some nine months after Nirinath's call to the rest of the dragons. Midranth of A'mad caught Nolith of Amara during a wild flight and Amaradis was born from this.
725 & 5: A'dis vaguely remembers the storm that destroyed a large portion of the weyr. This is in part because he very nearly died when his mother's hut collapsed. A'dis suffered a broken arm and fever from the break.
726 & 6: Is one of those who contracted firehead with the initial outbreak. Survives but is left in a bit of a weakened state for several months. Doesn't really understand the scope of the devastation the illness caused.
727-730 & 7-10: A'dis is just as excited as the rest of the makeshift weyr when Nirinath flies and clutches a modest sized clutched. Is secretly delighted when a girl impresses a blue. Why shouldn't girls be on fighter dragons? His mom rode one! A'dis cries when the blue the girl impressed betweens for no apparent reason. He is just as saddened by the losses of the weyrlings as everyone else. He is extremely confused when he mother leaves for days at a time and angry when she won't explain why. He doesn't understand the implications of B'jin stealing Talian, he just knows they needed a healer and now they had one.
734 & 14: Finally gets to stand for impressions. Stands for the Hunted and Pursuit hatchings. Doesn't impress but his sister Ameris impresses gold Mizeath. A'dis is exceptionally proud of the sister he's never been introduced to. The night of the hatching of the Carpe Diem clutch is one A'dis will never forget. He'll never forget the deaths and the keening and the wailing of those left behind. For as long as he lives, the sounds will haunt him. It was around this time that Tsuen died, taking Nirinath with her and S'kef would decide they would go back to the north. He was excited but at the same he was not. What did this mean for everyone? He didn't know.
735 & 15: His sister's gold had her maiden flight during this time, while they waited to return north. A'dis was determined to stand and impress at Katila. He was determined to impress from this clutch and did not go north when asked. Maybe then he'd have an opportunity to introduce himself to his goldriding sister. As luck would have it, Amaradis would become A'dis with his impression of Obaranth. He was over the moon when that small bronze dragonet slipped into his mind with ease. He may have cried a little when he finally was able to introduce himself to the sister he'd never met but always knew about. He definitely cried when his sister accepted him with open arms.
736 & 16: They remained at Katila while Obaranth grew, staying with the other weyrlings under the care of D'ren while the rest went north. When they were finally big enough, strong enough, and smart enough, A'dis and Obaranth were allowed to go north to Telgar. Where he learned his sister would be weyrwoman of Ista. He had to make a decision of whether he would stay or he would go. With the help of Obaranth the pair decided to remain in Telgar under the bronzerider A'dris because their similar names amused his dragon to no end.
736-739 & 16-19: A'dis was content to remain in Telgar. Both thankful and disappointed when Obaranth did not win any of the gold flights that have happened as of yet. Obaranth doesn't seem to mind and A'dis is of the same thought. They didn't need to win a goldflight to know that they are among the best. It'd come some day.

Education
Education Details: A basic weyr education, A'dis can barely scribble a little on hide and it is slightly embarrassing to him.
Obaranth
Dragon Name: Obaranth
Name Pronounced: Oh-Bah-Ranth
Dragon Colour:Bronze
Wing Assigned: N/A
Wing Rank: Wingrider
Hatching Date: 09.11.735 AL
Birthing Weyr: Katila
Home Weyr: Telgar
Clutch Name: Limitless Wonder
Clutch Mother:Gold Mizeath
Clutch Father:Bronze Korutath
Appearance:
Length: 38ft
Height: 19ft
Wingspan: 57ft
Scars & Markings: A few here and there from flights
Weyrlinghood: Obaranth was a gangly bronze when he was a weyrling, all elbows and knees and too long limbs. His hide was the same then as it is now and didn't really change when he shed out.
Adulthood: Obaranth has matured into a stately bronze, he holds himself with the pride that seems to be inherent in his color. He grew into his body and the out of proportion look he had as a weyrling disappeared into a well shaped and sturdy bronze. He's perfectly proportioned and well.. Perfect. His coloring has darkened slightly and the lighter patches he possessed as a weyrling have lightened some but all in all, Obaranth has remained nearly exactly the same as he was as a weyrling.
Mindvoice: Obaranth's voice has a rough quality to it. It brings to mind someone who has smoked a pipe for years and years. When excited Obaranth's voice can have a higher pitch to it though it is still rough.
General Character Traits:
Obaranth is a polite bronze, something that has always been apparent even from hatching. His even tempered nature makes him a favorite of the weyrbrats that always seem to gravitate towards him and his rider. He adores them and they know it. Like his rider, Obaranth loves firelizards almost as much as brown Ironth does. He knows his rider will never allow for one, no matter how much A'dis likes them, so the bronze gets his firelizard play with the rest of the firelizards around the weyr. The bronze has a huge curiosity and he loves to learn new things, he doesn't care if he might not remember what he learned, he's got a rider to do that for him. He's always insistent that A'dis learn just as much as he does so he does not run the risk of never remembering.
Habits/Mannerisms: Obaranth has a habit of twitching his tail when he's agitated. Often it goes in tandem with talon flexing. A'dis can always tell the state of his dragon by how deep the rugs in the dirt are from Obarath’s talons.
Likes:
A’dis: Part and parcel of being a ridden dragon, Obaranth loves his rider as all good dragons should, though he does become exasperated by A'dis at times.
Firelizards: Obaranth adores firelizards. He thinks it's super amusing that they are basically mini dragons.
Children: Obaranth has a soft spot for children. Before their return north it was not uncommon to see him lounging with the weyrbrats and letting them hang all over him.
Dislikes:
A’mad: Much of this stems from his own observations of how the brownrider interacts with A'dis. He has drawn his own conclusions of the other man and suffers his sight because A'dis cares.
The cold: Obaranth dislikes weather that is exceptionally cold. He much rather perfers a milder climate though he will suffer the cold if he must.
Lightening: Much like his mother, Obaranth dislikes lightening. He isn't quite as irrational with it as Mizeath is but the brightness of the flashes are a lot to bear.
Strengths:
Even tempered: Obaranth is rather even tempered. Not much ruffles his feathers outside a gold flight and his irrational dislike of A'mad.
Curious: Obaranth is a curious dragon. When something new catches his eye he likes to find out everything he possibly can about it.
Polite: Obaranth is always polite, even to those people he really does not like. He never raises his voice is anger and tries to find the best in every situation.
Flaws:
Finicky: Obaranth is a finicky dragon. His food must be just right, a regular old wherry just won’t do and the oils A’dis uses must be the perfect temperature. It can be quite grating on a rider to have such a fussy dragon but A’dis manages quite well.
Arrogant: Obaranth is arrogant like most bronzes. He knows he’s a bronze and he knows a bronze is far better than a brown or a blue. Not to mention he is the best of the bronzes.
Clumsy: He will never admit it but Obaranth is quite clumsy. This bronze often trips over his own tail or trips over a well hidden stick in the ground. In the air he is as graceful as any dragon but on the ground? He takes the whole fish out of water saying to heart.

He's jealous you know
"I don't understand why he would be so jealous," A'dis told the dragon he leaned against. It was a conversation they had many times before. Starting at nearly the beginning of their lives together, A'dis just couldn't understand why his father treated him with such disdain. He'd tried apologizing to the man and it had left him with a bloody lip. Obaranth had been pissed and would've have clawed the man if A'dis' mother hadn't intervened. "He should be proud. His son is a bronzerider and his daughter a goldrider. I just don't understand."
He is jealous because his own dragon is only a brown and he would have a bronze.
A'dis shook his head at the bronze's words. He knew Obaranth was right. He knew his father was irrationally jealous of the fact he did not ride a bronze and his son did but it hurt. It wasn't his fault Midranth was brown and not bronze. Besides, didn't everyone say that the dragon chose? He doubted there had been a bronze who would want a man like A'mad. He was too volitile. Too much of a drunk. Too.. A'mad. The brownrider was more suited for brown and though A'dis would never say it, he thought the man should've been on a blue.
Perhaps he is proud in his own twisted way. He seems to tolerate Ameris and the fact she rides my clutch mother. So maybe there is hope for he and you.
"Mm.. Maybe," but A'dis doubted it. He couldn't help but think he'd done something wrong and that some how he would have to make up to his father for whatever he'd done. The only problem was, A'dis had no idea how to go about it.
