R’nd grinned as they landed at B’jin’s cheer of success. The night had been spent reassuring his lover that the right thing would come to him and the day would go smoothly and so far it had gone just as predicted. R’nd was relieved that it had since losing a dragonet would be heartbreaking in and of itself but for it to be in B’jin’s class, at his urging they try it earlier than planned, it would have been devastating. K’rin and Ajaaskath were helped back to their feet but before any further teasing comments were passed between any of them, the weyrlingmaster was calling for his class to assemble, likely for a roll call and to be given instructions for the afternoon.
R’nd made his way through the crowd to B’jin where he slid his arm around the greenrider’s waist and a soft kiss was placed on his cheek. He tried his best to keep public displays of affection to a minimum but sometimes R’nd still couldn’t help himself and he was proud of his lover. B’jin had always been the ideal dragonrider in his mind and to have the man once again prove he was good at his job only made for a beaming bluerider. “Well done, love. Come find me in a bit once you’re done with the class. We can explore the area together.” He gave a wicked grin to imply his meaning of wandering off together though when Amorandii came flying at him for a hug, R’nd knew there wouldn’t be too much in the way of even stealing a kiss if they managed to sneak away for a few minutes. But, there was still an innocence to his request as R’nd had never really explored this portion of the land.
After giving the young girl her hug and giving her permission to chat with Ayyonth, R’nd slipped away again to continue his socializing. He had spotted a weyrling in the latest class that he hadn’t hung out with for a while but the intention of seeing the man was pushed aside a little longer when a familiar mop of curls went bouncing by. “Z’ia!” R’nd called out to his friend and former classmate and dashed over to catch up to him. It was odd seeing him around all of the young classes since it wasn’t the bluerider’s usual scene but Aveleth was a gentle soul and Z’ia loved his dragon more than anything else.
Rell beat him to the crew of human and firelizards, having finally abandoned R’nd’s shoulder he had been clinging to. His sweet blue was a little nervous with all of the excitement and people around but he still had his friends and while R’nd couldn’t figure out which one of the greens it was Rell preferred, it was enough to make for a chittering and happy blue firelizard that landed back on his shoulder once he caught up. “Hey, didn’t expect to see you here,” and without D’hys. R’nd was thankful D’hys wasn’t around and he knew he didn’t have to look around the group to verify that as truth. This wasn’t the older bluerider’s scene and no doubt he was at the execution enjoying the show. He would never trust D’hys. There was something off-putting about the man but R’nd could never figure out what. Z’ia obviously liked him given their tight friendship and that was the only reason why R’nd tolerated D’hys as much as he did.
“Did you help bring one of the young weyrlings over? I still can’t believe it was a clutch of greens and a gold!” R’nd laughed with a shake of his head. So many strange things happened around that clutch with the colours and who Impressed to the timing of the hatching itself. No doubt the females would be driving all the male dragons insane in half a turn’s time. A bluerider’s dream come true!
