The person he thought he was talking to turned around and definitely was not R'ana. In fact, it wasn't anywhere in the ballpark. There was a man speaking, but that wasn't R'ana either. It took Oahvakeen a moment to realize that the man was speaking to him.
"What? Oh...", he fumbled for words, struggling to process what the man was saying. But it didn't make much sense : gifts for weyrlings? Dancing with him and B'run? He felt a heat of his cheeks blushing at the thought that she'd been talking about him, especially dancing. And then he felt sad and even jealous of this B'run person.
"I'm Oahvakeen. Who are you? How do you know my name? How do you know R'ana? What's her real name, without honorifics, because of the announcement?", he had recovered social skills and now tried to grill Terken about her. At least he'd had the foresight to ask about her real name.
"Oh. Yeah, man, let's go find her.", any excuse would do to get out of this cesspool of angry men. He did enjoy the music, but he would have no regrets about leaving. Plus he just might make a new friend.
