“Food!” Kahleena teased, giggling playfully as she gathered up another lot of flowers, being careful to only take the best looking ones and leave the others where they were. There was no point in taking the whole bush home! She might as well start her own garden if she was going to do that, and that would mean there wouldn’t be such a wonderful excuse to escape the Weyr and drag R’nya around collecting such pretty plants. He obviously enjoyed it! He’d even told them he could skip, though there had been no evidence of any such thing. Well, there would be plenty more expeditions in the future for him to be pulled into such un-R’nya like behaviour!
With her arms full, Kahleena dashed to catch up to where R’nya was now poking through the basket, dropping the flowers into his lap and slapping his hands away playfully. Bronzeriders were certainly not meant to wait on a couple of silly girls! Smiling when R’nya settled back without a fuss, Kahleena produced some plates from the top of the basket, and put one before R’nya, and the other was place where Rhaedalyn would undoubtedly sit, while her own was put down to make a neat little triangle. Further digging through the basket produced little bread rolls, a nice chunk of rich cheese, some cold meat from the night before, and a selection of the locally available fruits.
“I wanted to grab something nicer for dessert,” she apologised, “but they hadn’t started cooling any of tonight’s desserts yet.” She grinned impishly, as if stealing dessert was the naughtiest thing ever and helped herself to the available foods, putting a slice of cheese and meat onto some bread and nibbling at it absently as she listened to the silence around them. It was the quiet, comfortable silence of the woods returning to normal after being disturbed.
Pulling a piece of meat free, Kahleena offered it with a gentle smile to Muffin, watching him guzzle it down with a giggle. Where he put all the tidbits she fed him, Kahleena had no idea, but she was glad it wasn’t turning him into a fat little ball! Then she’d have to stop, and that would be just heartbreaking! How could she ever say no to adorable little Muffin?! “Why would I ever need my own firelizard,” she teased playfully, offering Muffin another small piece of meat, “when I have yours to spoil?” A playful smile was given to Rhaedalyn.
