Rhaedalyn didn’t think R’nya’s flinching was insulting or had anything to do with her actually touching him given he had just been tickled near to death. She knew quite well that he was still sensitive from that attack and she would have behaved much the same way. In fact, while she giggled and playfully cleaned off his back, Rhaedalyn was still careful to ensure she wasn’t about to be pounced as revenge. That wouldn’t be very dignified and it would certainly be a shock to see R’nya do such a thing but given what they had already been through in the last several minutes, she had a feeling everything that they once knew as normal was a bit turned on its head for the time being.
Another giggle escaped when R’nya pointed out her hair had leaves in it as well and she quickly set to work brushing fingers through wild curls in an attempt to get them out. Rhaedalyn knew it was a futile effort given how crazy her hair could be but until she could get her hands on a brush and bath, she’d just have to make do. It was a good thing she also had her hat with her! First, she’d tend to the mark on her chin which was done with a few swipes of dry fingers. “Is that better?” She questioned R’nya, putting herself in line for the bronzerider’s direct gaze and scrutiny. Typically, Rhaedalyn didn’t like being the centre of attention but this was important! She couldn’t look a mess in the company of friends, especially when it was time to return to the Weyr.
Hazel eyes widened as R’nya said something and then corrected himself with an apology. Rhaedalyn hadn’t thought anything of it before R’nya did his own version of babbling. “It-it’s fine, Ren!” She tried to sound cheery and like he hadn’t just startled her with such a scandalous things! Then again, if anyone had stumbled upon them earlier, it wouldn’t have looked too innocent with two girls sitting atop R’nya either. Blushing furiously, Rhaedalyn fumbled for her hat and quickly pulled it down on her head until her face was mostly obscured with how she was gazing down at the forgotten food.
