Rhaedalyn giggled at Kahleena leaving the basket for R’nya to bring. She could imagine him eyeing it, one eyebrow raised as he did so, before dutifully bringing it along. Assuming he came, anyway! He better or she’d give him a huge trembling lower lip and sad eyes if he didn’t! A stern lecture on how rude it was to promise and then leave two women waiting would be attempted but Rhaedalyn wasn’t sure how far she’d get into it. It was hard to keep such anger going, especially when the target was not only a friend but a man. It didn’t matter that R’nya turned her down when she needed his assistance which made her feel awkward around him for far longer than it seemed to bother him – if it did at all; he was so hard to read! Luckily, she wouldn’t find out any time soon how lecturing the bronzerider would go as he suddenly appeared leaving the curly haired girl to blink wide eyes at him. She was convinced he could between without a dragon!
“Good morning, R’nya!” Rhaedalyn greeted a moment after getting over her surprise. Another giggle was quick to follow as the firelizards, having scattered after Kahleena’s squeal, took to circling the bronzerider in greeting. Rumour and Whisper seemed especially fond of him while Muffin went to Kahleena after his initial greeting and took up residence on the girl’s shoulder to lick her cheek before taking off again. Rhaedalyn didn’t mind her friends being people of interest to her fair since they could be such a handful at times and this gave her a bit to relax. It was also nice having people that liked them! She loved V’zire but he was still skittish around firelizards and she did her best to keep them from bothering the greenrider.
Rhaedalyn squeaked her way out of the giggle as Kahleena pulled her into interlocking their arms to make their way into the forest. She laughed openly, forgetting to hide the smile as she skipped along beside Kahleena. “You’re sure we didn’t miss the end of the season, right?” Rhaedalyn had enough skills to know how to pluck flowers and arrange them prettily in vases but she wasn’t an expert on growing them or when they bloomed. Kahleena had assured her before that there would still be flowers in bloom for a few days more but it really didn’t bother her if they ended up with barely a handful. The point of the excursion was to get out and have some fun with friends and enjoy a light meal out in the open. It would be a fun day and that was the important part.
“Hurry up, slow poke!” Rhaedalyn teased over her shoulder as the girls skipped further ahead and away from R’nya. She imagined R’nya skipping and had to bite her lip from laughing for no apparent reason when the image made for a stiff and frowning bronzerider. Unfortunately for R’nya, she couldn’t keep it to herself and shared with Kahleena, knowing her friend would enjoy it as much as she was.
