Talian's soft words and gentle touch were appreciated by the little green, who lapped them up but said nothing in return. She was caught up feeling miserable for herself, her hide twitching at intervals as Talian went about his work but she made no objections, patient and sad as the young man worked. What was there to say? Larrikith pressed her nose gently to Talian's cheek as he admitted his own worry, breathing a soft, warm breath over him. She was worried, too, but she refused to say as much. She was a big girl, and they'd been through this before and obviously survived; she could tell as much by the surface emotions washing over Talian.
She didn't remember the trip between to get herself and Talian to the Bathing House; her eyes swirling viciously with terror as she stood there, suddenly afraid and unsure. Her human's mind was a darkness, blank and out of reach, and Larrikith loosed a keening shriek of fear, the little dragon trembling from nose to tail tip as she mentally pressed against the minds of Talian and R'nd, shrieking again in heartbreak as Talian confirmed with a curse her bonded's lack of life. A heartbroken keening whine tore from her lips. He was gone! He'd left her! She was alone! Larrikith shrieked again, trembling, clinging desperately and fearfully to the faith she had in Talian; he wouldn't - couldn't - let B'jin die!
She clung desperately to that thought, swaying on the spot; clawed feet digging into the ground as if the very act would keep her safely secured on Pernese soil. One faltering thought from Talian and she'd be gone! And then-! Larrikith gave another soul wrenching shriek, this time of desperate hope as Talian's own hope flared. He was alive? Talian had saved him? B'jin! Larrikith's cry was a sobbing gasp of relief audible to the world; his mind was still blank, and out of reach, but there was a difference and Talian's relief was thick.
The sudden and overwhelming wave of pain made Larrikith gasp, eyes swirling suddenly as she groaned unhappily. So much pain! Inside, B'jin gave a sudden indrawn gasp, his entire body wrenching viciously, muscles clenching as his stomach rebelled and he gasped again, in a pain, an action that only furthered the sensation as he choked on his own vomit. Clawing viciously at Talian's leg as he tried desperately to breathe, eyes wide and wild but completely blind to the world.
Help him! Larrikith shrieked, as if the two men in the room were just going to sit there and watch her rider die after they'd both been so quick to go to his aid.
