"'Hhe' is correct," Talian said. He thought back to his recent encounters with Valerian and almost smiled. It really did say something, they they could go through what had happened and remain best friends. Tal felt no need to elaborate on it, though; not even to himself, since many of the emotions involved were still distant and confusing to him. Perhaps one day he'd be able to properly sort the whole incident in his head, but until then he was choosing not to think about it. It was a shame he wasn't more conscience of his own process, or he would have noticed and maybe been disturbed by it's similarity to B'jin's methods. Repression, Talian often reminded people, was unhealthy.
"I wouldn't put it past him," he commented afterwards. He recalled how fidgety and impatient the bluerider had been. How he lurked so close behind, his footfalls almost landing on Talian's heels. Talian didn't know much about I'shan, just that he'd been responsible for searching Erisi as well and that he tried to barge into the infirmary the night that browl broke out after a gather. Forcibly drugging the bastard had been satisfying.
"He was highly interested in what was going on," Tal elaborated, voice heavy with misgivings. He paused to rub his eyes. "Anyhow, thank you for your time. I'll speak to them and I'll make sure they get your message. Oh!"
He reached into his pocket and produced a note. "This came from the girl with the flowers. Here," he said, sliding it across the table. The healer smiled, then slowly rose to his feet and scooped up his bag.
"Remember to get a lot of rest and try and keep your mind clear. I'll leave some medication with I'shan just in case, but I'll be sure he knows that it's optional. I hope you feel better soon."
