Talian complied, carefully setting the vase down on the table before taking his own seat. "It's fine," he said pleasantly. He brushed a bit of his hair from the side of his face and looked to Sanderon, appraising eyes locking onto the other young man's in a knowing way. Talian hadn't been placed on the island, but he'd gone through a similar sort of observation. B'jin would have done it even if no one was strictly supposed to.
"I ate before I came over," he elaborated. He opened his bag and rooted around for a moment. He had a variety of herbs and other remedies, mostly mild sedatives and anti-hallucinogens. He hoped he wouldn't have to use them, but one could never be too careful when dealing with an unstable mind. Tal's heart was heavy for his fellow northerner, but he was here, at least for the time being, as a doctor.
The young man closed his eyes and cleared his throat. "Okay," he said, putting on a modest smile. "I'm sorry, but I've been ordered to do a medical screening," he said. He knew Sanderon would know WHY he was there, but he still owed him at least a basic acknowledgement of the fact.
Tal produced some paper and a quill from his bag. He set an inkwell out, then looked back to the other northerner. He took a moment to think over the notes and research he'd done over the past few days. Jumping form surgery to mindhealing wasn't easy, even for someone accomplished like Talian. It took a lot of preparation, and while he was certain he'd have to make up much of this as he went, he wasn't going to let that show on the surface.
"All right," he said. "Sanderon, would you mind answering a few questions?" he asked. "If you could start by telling me a little bit about your current state of mind and tell me about the conduct of the bluerider who's been looking after you, that would be excellent." I'shan didn't know about that last part, but it came straight from D'ren.
