Sanderon could hear two sets of footsteps coming towards his room. He recognized one set right away as belonging to I'shan. The other set he thought might be familiar but he couldn't place them with a face. He knew they were coming to see him. There was no one else on the island. At least not that he knew of.
His face showed obvious signs of crying. But hearing that he was about to have a visitor, he placed a hand over his eyes as he lay upon his back on his bunk. I'shan had found him shivering on the floor a short time after his rage had been spent two days ago. The room had been totally wrecked and it smelled horrible too. He was also a wreck but at least he lived through it. His rage had not come up into his being after that event. Not even a hint of it remained. He was sure he might get angry in the future but the beast that raged in his mind no longer seemed to exist. Instead a constant tiredness of mind and pain of heart remained.
Hearing the whisper that was exchanged between his visitor to I'shan after the door had been unlocked and opened, he knew who was here. Talian. Moving his hand away from his eyes he rested it comfortably upon his stomach and turned his head to see the man. His red eyes searching out how Talian might think of him now. His focus slipped quickly away from Talian's meek smile and onto the flowers he held. They instantly reminded him of the young woman that he had watched make a bouquet for his room back at healer hall. What was her name? He could not remember but he saw her face clearly.
When Talian confirmed that a young lady had sent them, Sanderon managed a half-hearted but genuine smile. He was too broken at heart for anything more than that. But the gift of flowers truly touched him. He thought he would never hear from her again with how rude he had been. When asked where he wanted them placed, he sat up on his bunk and then stood. Taking a few steps closer to Talian, where the table-stand had been set upright again, he spoke quietly with an obvious tone of heartbreak still present. Gesturing to the table he said, "Here. Please....Thank you Talian. Take a seat if you like. I can't offer you any refreshments though." He tried a friendly smirk to lighten the atmosphere a little, but it just came out looking pathetic.
