Appearance

 

Eyes: Saavani has dark hazel eyes, which appear more brown than gold. Her eyes are wide spaced, with a thick array of lashes, though they are of medium length. Her eyebrows are slim and neat, tapering off to a pointed end and maintaining a natural shape with little work on her part.

Hair: Black, silky, and of varying lengths, Saavani’s hair is usually about shoulder length, though it has been known to be both longer or shorter, most likely depending on her mood on a day when scissors are handy. However, Saavani prefers to wear her hair loose and flowing around her shoulders. She has never worn it shorter than midway between chin and shoulders.

General Appearance: Saavani is a willowy, lithe woman – she has slim legs, narrow hips, and a small bust. Her hands and feet are small, nimble, and she wears an assortment of rings on her fingers. She has a habit of picking at her fingernails, keeping them considerably shorter than they could otherwise be, but not quite to the quick. Saavani’s face is a rounded oval, with a delicate chin and a slim nose. Her lips are full and naturally quite pink. Small ears are often hidden behind her hair, which she wears loose.

Even before Impressing to Ayokath, Saavani was not considered a proper woman; she is too narrow and angular, with very subtle natural curves. Since Impressing, she has developed firmness about her body in muscles required for taking proper care of a dragon, with toned legs, a flat and firm belly, and strong arms that belie her small structure.

Dressing Style: Saavani wears fitted leather pants almost every day, belted around her narrow waist and falling to her ankles, where they are tucked into proper riding boots. To counter the masculine pants, she has pretence for wearing flowing and feminine shirts; they often have sewn hems with scenery or dragons, and her sleeves range from sleeveless, to bells that cinch at the wrist, poofing around her arms, particularly at the elbow and wrist.

On her fingers, Saavani wears several rings, all of them carved delicately from wood, which won’t freeze when she travels between. While she makes them for herself, she is determined that they are not good enough for anyone else to be seen wearing. As a result, she will not gift them to anyone. She also wears bracelets made from wooden beads, and has a necklace – a string of leather – with a claw from Ayokath threaded on it, which the dragon lost as an infant.

She does not voice her opinion a whole lot, and certainly not around those of higher rank or standing than herself. She is particularly reserved around men, demure and quiet with her head down and doing her best to avoid undue attention.
