Eyes: J’dia has clear grey-green eyes that often sparkle with mischievous amusement. Above them, expressive eyebrows are barely maintained. J’dia has short, thick lashes.

Hair: J’dia has dark brown hair, almost black, that he usually wears cropped short but has bene known to grow several inches in a fluffy, fly-away manner. It has a curly wave to it, and is silky to the touch.

Height: 6'0

General Appearance: Standing at an average height, J’dia is a slim man; his shoulders are not as wide as most, and his long limbs just make him look all the more slim. That isn’t to take away from the muscle structure of the young man, who takes pride in his appearance and has spent turns bathing a dragon to build up arms, riding a dragon to build up thighs, and cheerful laughter to wrap up the package in an enjoyable bow.

J’dia has a face younger than his hears, with bright, clear grey-green eyes and a straight nose above full pink lips, the likes of which are almost always pulled up at the corners in a smile, showing white and mostly straight teeth. His jawline is often covered in a couple of days’ worth of growth, the dark hair more or less the same shade as his hair. While J’dia doesn’t mind not shaving for a couple of days, he rarely goes more than three or four before the razor is once more set upon the unruly stubble.


Dressing Style: J’dia takes pride in his appearance, and enjoys looking his best, though he doesn’t go out of his way to dress to the nines. A nice pair of pants are often accompanied by a shirt and a vest, his knots displayed proudly on his shoulder. He enjoys muted colours for his pants and vest, keeping them to browns, blacks, and greys. However, he tends to go a little on the wild side with his shirts, preferring bright and eye-catching colours or patterns, things that make him pop! He enjoys the comments that his clothing is want to bring.
   

   

Personality

   

General Character Traits: J’dia is the kind of person who gets called a loser, by the person laughing in delight at his antics. He’s cheerful and exuberant, taking the ups and downs of life in stride with a quirky sense of humour and a well-meaning and eager laugh. Expressive and bright, J’dia can often be seen entertaining groups of friends with his cheerful re-enactments and mock-serious play. He loves to get an audience rolling, and laughter is something he can never get enough of.

A clever and intelligent individual, J’dia is an active reader of people, able to take in a person, or persons, and the situation. He does so in order to lighten a scene, bringing humour and good feelings to even the most dour of moments, if he feels it is appropriate; there are always moments when even J’dia finds that humour is not quite what the doctor ordered, though he is loath to admit such a thing.

Being serious isn’t really something that J’dia finds worth his time; serious people tend to be boring people, and boring people are, as a result, no fun. That isn’t to say he doesn’t know when to duck his head and behave himself – he does, though mostly through efforts of trial and error over the years – but J’tia doesn’t enjoy being serious, though he often enjoys teasing serious people.

Because of his lack of steadfast seriousness, J’dia isn’t often looked upon to fill roles of rank and prestige, though he doesn’t find this to be a negative in his day to day life. Granted, J’dia has some ability to lead, it is mostly used to lead people down the path of laughter and good fun, and rarely to lead them in a world of politics and fear of threadfall. Let the future be worried about when it arrives, is generally his motto. Today is now, and now is a time for laughter!

J’dia’s vivacious nature makes him a genuinely likable person, and he enjoys being surrounded by friends and friendly people. A dork at the best of times, J’dia is not above making himself out to be the class clown, and in fact enjoys the attention that such a position bestows upon him. Never one to shy away from the spotlight, J’dia has a habit of commanding attention away from others, making him a less desirable friend for people who aren’t outspoken and demanding; those types often get lost under the sheer wave of personality that is J’dia.

Habits/Mannerisms: J’dia gesticulates to the extreme; he is never one to talk without using his hands as an addition, expressing both himself and the story. He also has a habit of eating fast, wolfing his food down as if he is afraid it might disappear before he has the chance to eat it (though more likely worried he’ll miss a chance to be in the spotlight).

Opinions:
  Threadfall Theory: Uh, let’s talk about something fun!
  Stealing/Kidnapping: Eh, probably not the best way to go about it, but it got him on dragonback, so whatever.
    Weryrleader S'kef: It is fascinating to him that a brownrider took a rank reserved for bronze. His lack of ambition means he’ll never be in that position, but it’s fun to hear the stories.
     Firelizards: LOOKIT THOSE LITTLE CUTIES!
    Women's loss of honourifics: J’dia has heard in passing that women used to have honorifics, but that knowledge doesn’t really affect him. It’s all water under the bridge to him.
  Return North: Oh, this is going to be fun!

Likes:
   Jam: Jam: J’dia has an incredible soft spot for jam, especially when made from berries. He loves to put it on his bread, but he will also eat it out of the jar if he gets the chance. The sugary, sweet spread is the easiest way to win over the cheerful man.
   Salt: for all that J’dia loves sweet things, he also has a great fondness for salt, and can often be seen liberally applying it to any of his evening meals, and sometimes his lunches too, regardless of whether or not the cooks actually added salt while cooking. It’s gotten him in trouble with the cooks before, so he is usually seen looking over his shoulder before sprinkling his food.
   Pillow talk: While some dragonriders flee post Flight, and some go seeking another round of sex, J’dia loves pillow talk. He’ll talk about almost anything, with a hushed tone and a gentle smile, relaxing and at peace with the after effects of dragon induced lust.

Dislikes:
   Alcohol: J’dia hates the way alcohol makes him feel fuzzy headed and unbalanced. He doesn’t mind the taste of good wine, and will drink a small amount at parties or dinners, but otherwise avoids it – and he stays the hell away from Katilan brews. Eww!
   Sour Suds: People who are too self-involved and overly serious make J’dia sad. He loves to see people happy, to make people laugh, and to know that people are enjoying their lives and the adventure that it is. To come across people who just stare him down when he is funny makes him feel sad for the individual. He usually avoids them, once he’s convinced he’ll never get them to laugh. Until then, they’re a challenge.
   Dreary Rain: There is nothing quite as depressing as dreary rain. J’dia doesn’t mind rain overall, but when the sky gets dark and the clouds are heavy; when the world is muggy and the overall effect is dreary, well, that’s when J’dia gets depressed. This cheerful class clown finds it hard to be his happy self when it feels like the world is suffering a depressive episode.

Strengths:
   Vivacious: J’dia is alive in every sense of the word. He is active, exuberant and loud. He uses his whole body to gesticulate and tell stories, tell jokes, and face off against the world. J’dia has a brilliant smile, and sparkling green eyes that entice people to listen to his words, and enjoy his company.
   Funny: Naturally funny, J’dia has the ability to make people laugh, from the things he says through to the things he does. He carefully calculates his antics, designing them to bring about the most entertainment for his companions.
   Hard Working: J’dia is a dedicated hard worker; granted, most of that hard work is turned towards making sure his companions are having a good time. He works hard to get to know his friends, find out what makes them happy and what makes them laugh.

Flaws:
   Immature: To accuse J’dia of immaturity would be… well, it would be spot on. Most people have a comprehensive understanding of ‘the right time’ and ‘the wrong time’. J’dia does not. Every time is the right time for a joke, for a laugh, for fun. It’s never the wrong time, despite what people apparently tell him, repeatedly. As far as he’s concerned, it’s never too soon for a bad joke, and never too serious for a loud fart.
   Mischievous: J’dia has a mischievous streak wider than most dragons are long. He takes a great deal of amusement in pulling pranks, causing mayhem, and watching the world around him fall to pieces from the silliest of things. He loves how a well pulled prank can leave people scratching their heads or in stitches. That said, J’dia will never use his mischief powers to cause purposeful harm. Sometimes he misjudges and it has been known for someone to get hurt, but he learns from those moments and makes sure not to repeat.
   Distant: Emotionally distant, J’dia isn’t someone who invites people to get to know the real him. He doesn’t mind who knows the outter layer; the mischief and the mayhem and the teasing and fun. That’s all public fodder and he gives it away for free by the handful. But the real him? His hopes and dreams, his fears and loves? Those are not for the public and he keeps them tightly guarded in the depths of his heart, where only Rydionth can see them.

720.02.24 – 12: For his 12th birthday, Jedidiah is apprenticed to his father’s craft, glass smith. He is excited and anxious to prove himself, delighted that his father has such faith in him. His exuberance gets him burned on more than one occasion and he receives a serious talking to about settling down and taking the craft seriously.

Appearance:

   Scars & Markings: Rydionth has no real blemishes, excluding the fact that he is missing his outside finger on his left front paw. He doesn’t like to tell the story of how it happened, finding it embarrassing, but J’dia finds the whole thing hilarious and will gladly share the story with anyone that asks.

   Weyrlinghood: Hatching day saw a fat little brown dragonet tumble from his shell. Colourwise, he looked like a nice piece of wood, with strands of brown in various shades, from a soft caramel through to a darker mahogany. His wings were oversized and often underfoot as a youngster, while his tail appeared almost short for his body.

   Adulthood: Shedding his weyrling hide, Rydionth revealed a solid and beautiful dark brown hide, which is enhanced by soft sandy markings across his face, and on each of his legs up to the elbows and knees. Topping out as one of the biggest browns, Rydionth outstrips several bronzes, the majority of his colour-mates and no small number of the gold dragons. Rydionth is quite proud of his impressive size, and rather enjoys surrounding himself with smaller dragons. Alongside his impressive length, Rydionth claims a neat and well-proportioned wingspan and height, with sturdy limbs that are neither too big or muscular, but also not too slim and streamlined.

Mindvoice: Rydionth has a smoky voice, smooth and warm.

Likes:
   Smaller dragons: Rydionth is vain, or at least, vain enough that he enjoys preening around smaller dragons, who make him feel more impressive than his already impressive appearance. He also enjoys dragons that are in awe of him, for his size, for his colour, for his amazing personality.
   J'dia's antics: Rydionth is hardly a good influence on his rider; quite the opposite in fact – he so enjoys the antics his ridiculous rider gets up to, often encouraging the man and laughing merrily when he does something silly. He can be a voice of reason, when he thinks things might be going too far or he fears for J’dia’s safety, but mostly he can be seen cheering his rider on.
   Jam: It was an accident, how Rydionth ended up getting jam on his tongue, but he immediately took a liking to the sticky and sweet preserve. Now, he thoroughly enjoys the sweet treat, and will go out of his way to steal jars if he can get them, or coerce weyrbrats to steal them for him, and pour it on his tongue.

Dislikes:
   Boring individuals: There is more to life than work and responsibility. True, there are moments for those things, but there should be fun and enjoyment taking up the majority of each day! Rydionth enjoys enjoying life – he likes giving chase regularly (though not as much as Veeth is known for it!) and teasing weyrlings. He loves swimming and sunning and playing games – physical or mental. Boring individuals have no place in his life, and Rydionth will go out of his way to avoid dragons or humans that he proclaims are boring.
   Clingy greens: Rydionth is a promiscuous fellow, and he enjoys winning flights of multiple greens; he does not, however, enjoy having said green cling to him as an aftereffect of their Flight. Should a green become known to be clingy – and its J’dia’s responsibility to keep tabs on that – Rydionth will go out of his way not to even notice when she Flies, and will refuse to speak with her until she gets the message and leaves him alone.
   Whers: Ever since he first had the displeasure of meeting one of the things, Rydionth has detested them. He hates their ugly bodies, their ugly minds, and their ugly attitudes. Their arrogance grates on him, and he would gladly see them expunged from existence. Pern would be better off without those things.
