Zeianth’s larger form was working against him with such a small female he pursued. He couldn’t make all the sharp dips and dives that Krypth did but he did his best to hang with the pack, though his lack of agility in this race caused D’hys to stumble all the more as he followed his instincts and headed where the goldrider was moving to. When Krypth suddenly pulled up between Zeianth and another blue – his attention wasn’t on anyone else around him and he couldn’t say who his tightest competitors were – D’hys gasped as his vision blurred and all he saw was mud-splattered shining hide before him. He went to his knees, both males hissing at the gold as she taunted them with such moves, and D’hys was quickly back on his feet with one hand subconsciously gripping at the towel that still stayed on hips, if only barely.
We can do this! One mind blended with the other and they took comfort in the trust they had in each other and the confidence both exuded. It propelled both on, bare feet working over a hot ground while icy blue wings flapped and glided beneath the hot sun. If anyone ever believed either was made entirely of ice, they only had to turn to them now to see them still going strong in the midday summer heat. Although it was a close call when D’hys’ vision blurred as he saw the brown hide of his father D’ser’s Epikoth and nearly ran into the side of a hut. That would have been embarrassing if his mind wasn’t wrapped up in the flight and his competitive nature wasn’t amped to the max at seeing Epikoth in the fray as well.
As one, they growled in irritation and determination. How dare D’ser think to chase a gold! If someone in their family line was to sleep with a pretty little goldrider, it would be D’hys, not the old man! D’hys caught up the pack of men running after Jada just in time to body check against a fellow bluerider as Zeianth flew by the dragon and they both move by D’ser and Epikoth without gracing them with so much as a blink of acknowledgement.
Just a little further! They were moving from the middle of the pack to the front. Close, so close! Our adorable prizes are within reach. Claim them!
