Nirinath was getting heavier and heavier as the days passed and the eggs within her grew larger and larger. She was not yet unwieldy enough to get off the ground however, and she meant to take advantage of that as long as she could. She checked in quietly on Tsuen; the weyrwoman was resting with D'ren, which was a good thing. Both the leaders had been stressed recently and while their dragons were a part of it as well, the difference was that she (and by extension, Ronarth) could make the other dragons behave, where Tsuen did not have that power over the other riders. So if the humans made a decision, it was more likely to lead to rioting, like that night Turns past where the riders who were denied looking for a brown that had been sent away, burned Tsuen's hut down.
Opening her wings like twin parachutes, Nirinath took a running leap toward the surf, letting the warm air currents flow under and over and around the shining wingsails. She gained altitude slowly, but she wasn't alarmed about that; there was plenty of sea between her and the Northern continent, and lots of room to the east and west to bank. Eventually she got high enough to no longer be concerned, even if she had flown over the North, because no one would have been able to see her. She headed back inland toward the mountains beyond the Katilan huts, and before long, two green spots and a yellowy-green bronze one. Her wingbeats came closer together, and a distinct blue-green twist entered her eyes that were already a pleasant blue. She enjoyed flying with her fellow dragons, and she didn't do it enough.
Suddenly, her eyes flooded with yellow as one of Grith's wings folded to her side. Nirinath's wing muscles strained, but she knew she would not get there in time and Grith was too near Ronarth and Larrikith for the gold to risk between. Her mindvoice called out, Ronarth -- help Grith!!
