“Well,” Said N’mor quietly as the last of the Weyrlings wandered off, and the final two eggs were declared duds by Iliyith. “That certainly could have been worse.” It could have gone a lot better, too, but all things considered it wasn’t the worst hatching that he’d ever attended. It was a sad loss for the life of the candidate, and of course the babies that had gone between as a result. But at least their little golden girl had Impressed nicely and made her way off the Sands without any issues. The bronzes would bear watching, and N’mor was aware of one or two other candidates turned Weyrlings who would be causing the Master no few issues.
Well, that wasn’t his to worry about for the time being. He would get the information from the Haprer and write up a report for M’ris. He knew the Weyrleader had watched, but it was always nice to have everything written out for later review, and any of those Weyrlings that had slipped by his notice would be there in ink and parchment for him… when he wasn’t too drunk to read it. N’mor’s lips pursed, and he glanced towards the Weyrleader and Weyrwoman for a moment, before looking back at Helyna.
“Would you like to come with me to meet August’s little lady?” he asked, offering his one and only arm to Helyna even as Rhezalth perked up from where he had been talking to Iliyith about whatever dragons talked about (N’mor tended to ignore such conversations when they weren’t blocked from him).I would like to meet her! and he nudged Iliyith’s cheek to invite her along to meet their daughter, too.
