"I'm awake, I'm awake..." how many times had he said it already? How many more until people would stop asking? But then Pit was nudging his hands and his eyes fluttered open again and he groaned as someone threw candidate robes onto his head. "Fine!"
He didn't even have the luxury of a nice warm body to be snuggled up against, why was he having so much trouble waking up? Still, if there was a Hatching, Zory figured he should get up and get ready. He felt like a bit of a zombie as he made sure to pull on the scratchy and bland robes and get his boots on. The little green firelizard chirped encouragingly, trying to help him stay focused and awake until he was shuffling out the door on the tail end of the last of the other candidates.
At least Zoremet had the good sense to send Pit up and away once he was on the Sands. He found his sister and brother and stifled a yawn as he joined them with a quick nod and sleepy greeting. After several moments of rubbing his eyes he wondered if maybe he was going to somehow fall asleep during the Hatching, but a tiny roar gave him a shot of adrenaline that helped him finally jolt properly awake as he focused on the handsome little bronze and then the rest of the eggs.
