Mylorah held her breath every time a dragon appeared. She really didn’t want to be stuck in Fort but some of her misery had faded when she saw Tazikel in the crowd. He was hardly innocent—she knew that on multiple levels—but he was when it came to her new grudge against the gold pair and his sweet smile, looking the picture of serenity, lifted her spirits and calmed her somewhat. Until the eggs started hatching but so far they had stayed away from their group.
She was still happy for friends when they Impressed and smiled or gave a light cheer when they walked by and had a bit of guilt with every bit of relief she felt. When Quinvalis Impressed, she quietly squealed with Zelly, pleased that not only had her suggestion for the two become friends worked but he was also walking away with a lifemate. He needed that connection and Mylorah was so happy for him!
“Um, before you congratulate him, we might need to have a little talk about what’s allowed for celebrations.” She’d caught the way Quinvalis had glanced at Zelly a few times and knew something had happened between them. She wasn’t judging despite being the sister of Zelana’s boyfriend since she was aware that it was casual. As long as A’tay didn’t get hurt.
When they were down to just the gold egg, anxiety started to spike. She’d avoided Impression so far, surely she could do it one more time. Somewhere in the back of her mind Mylorah worried that wishing she didn’t Impress now would jinx her for every other Hatching but it was too late to do anything about that now as the gold finally arrived.
And Impressed to someone else.
She heaved a great sigh of relief and linked arms with Zelana and Zoremet. “Well then! There’s always next time, right? Let’s go see the family!” She didn’t really want to, knowing Cazan would eventually head over if T’ryn didn’t go to her first but Tazikel was there and she wasn’t going to ignore her knight.
That reminded her, “the curly haired blonde is mine,” she warned with a smile to both of them. She was fine with doing her own sharing but she needed some Tazikel alone time.
