Quinvalis was regretting a lot of things the moment the brown burst free and ran. He had kept his cool with the excited green—she hadn’t come close to him so that helped—but the brown was angry. He also wasn’t anywhere near him but the anger was unsettling and then he was slashing out and Quinvalis shut his eyes, not wanting to see the massacre and trusting Malvayth to keep him safe if anything more happened.
When the screams didn’t come, he opened his eyes and saw some of the men had scattered and Corvilis was talking to the dragonet. Great. Quinvalis was already afraid of Corvilis and now he had a brown dragon that was more likely to murder than Malvayth despite what some Candidates thought of her. He quietly thought the pairing made sense and that worried him all the more. But he focused on the positive aspect that it didn’t seem like there were a lot of serious injuries. He saw one guy bleeding and limping off to get it looked at but he was moving on his own. He didn’t need help or wasn’t staying put. Good things.
Deep breaths. He just had to get through nine more eggs.
