Cazelarias wasn’t sure when his sister joined him, only that suddenly she was there and he clung to her when she wrapped him up in a hug, feeling the comforting warmth and familiarity though it was somewhat spoiled by her growing belly. He realised with a start that he’d be an uncle soon, and how was he supposed to keep a niece or nephew safe when Cazan was so damned intent on being around the murderous beast she’d apparently ’bonded’ to. Whatever that meant.
“Cazzy,” He murmured, clinging tighter for a moment before cautiously releasing her slowly. He didn’t want to move, didn’t want to see what the beast was doing, didn’t want it to see him but he knew the sense his sister was talking (for once) and that leaving would be a very good idea. “We should go,” he echoed, shifting around to cautiously rise to his feet, though his shoulders were hunched and his weight was on the balls of his feet, ready to flee at a moment’s notice.
Cazelarias helped his sister to her feet, holding her hand tightly and not letting go once she was standing. He let her choose the safest way out of the area, pausing only long enough to make sure said path wouldn’t take them anywhere near the yellow beast of doom. “What happened?” he asked voice low though it broke slightly on the end of the last word, and he shook his head, glancing once more over his shoulder at Malwhatshername who appeared to be curled up tightly, still making that awful noise.
The noise faded somewhat as Cazelarias was lead out of the Hatching area, and into the corridors, following numbly as his sister lead him through twists and turns until she reached a door. He jumped and shrank away when someone joined them, and it took him a few moments to comprehend who it was – Cazan’s mate, he couldn’t function enough at the moment to remember the mans’ name – and while they hugged, he refused to let go of Cazan’s hand so it was a bit awkward all around for a moment. He followed when his sister pushed the door open, and was ushered to a couch. He released her hand reluctantly once he was seated, pulling his feet up onto the sofa and curling his arms around his knees, pressing his face into them.
