He had to admit that Yfris made sense. Why would a bunch of holdfolk know anything about how Weyrs were organized and run? K'dar lounged on the ground, staring off over the ocean. "We did open Benden recently, and I suppose it wouldn't hurt anything to look into it as a possibility." He turned to his friend to raise an eyebrow dubiously as he added, "I'm not sure I should hit on your lady... I don't even know who she is. And if she's supposed to marry you I doubt she'd appreciate it."
There was the possibility that she was just like Yfris but he doubted it. The lordling was so over the top and larger than life that K'dar was sure he was genuinely one of a kind. The followup question was bothersome because he had to think about it. What was he? "I've always been the oldest... so I'm used to spending my time watching over my younger siblings, helping them out and trying to keep them out of trouble. I guess I haven't really done much since I impressed and ended up further away from most of them. Well one of my younger brothers is in Telgar with me now, but he's good at staying out of trouble on his own." He didn't bring up that he'd punched said brother during a recent flight... that had been a touch embarrassing. "I don't sing, well I do but not well. I can make my own riding straps, and maintain my leathers, but I wouldn't feel good about making anything for anyone else. I like to go fishing, but that's easy, everyone can do that."
He smiled at the memory of dancing with Kat at the gather and how proud he'd been of pulling off those fancy moves with her. " Oh... I dance I suppose. Just... ah... keep it a secret. I basically just tried to copy the moves I read about in some of my books." K'dar chuckled, shaking his head. "I guess I'm not really all that impressive. Maybe I should learn to do something. Not sure what would help me to be more interesting or more fit to be weyrleader."
