"Oh you don't have to try to get me a discount, but thank you!" Zelana gave the man a warm smile, pleased that he'd offered to get her a discount. Maybe after she'd whittled away a bit at A'tay she'd find out if his brother's girlfriend was as open to sharing as the other weyrfolk she'd met tended to be. Unless A'tay would be bothered by the thought; she'd noticed that even boys who were fine with sharing sometimes didn't like sharing with family. That was future Zelly's problem though. Present Zelly still had to get A'tay into the water. Possibly into bed, but that was a bonus prize; so far he was proving surprisingly entertaining even without that sort of fun.
Hopefully the fact that A'tay was an excellent student who was eager to please would eventually spill over into other fun sorts of lessons. Zelana gave a small wave at T'ryn's worries. "I'm not going to drown him or anything. My goal is for him to learn how to relax and have fun in the water with me when I visit the beach. Pushing too hard will just make it a boring chore or some sort of torture and that is the opposite of fun." She paused a moment as a thought occurred and added, "Unless he's into that sort of thing, but I don't think he is."
On the one hand that would explain his newly discovered fondness for spicy food, and his general tolerance of her pressuring and teasing. She turned back to T'ryn, taking his empty bowl and setting it to the side of the sink to be cleaned up later. "I'm glad that you like it! I'm going to be teaching this recipe to A'tay next if he likes it too."
