Krypth twined her body around Jada's leg as best she could, glaring at the three greens in the sky with an irritated gaze. I refuse to let them touch me. she told Jada firmly. You better hope someone else comes back, or we have a long walk ahead. What possessed those silly wherries to think that diving off of a dragon that was almost as small as you were (Krypth was not a very good judge of size difference apart from the fact that she was finally bigger than Vyaniorth) and onto a tiny little platform of Green? Oruth was clearly seeking a romance with the ground, and Krypth wanted to be well out of the way! Start walking!
"I really appreciate you coming ahead and not telling me." Jada told her bonded conversationally, trying to pry her leg free of the snakelike grip. How could a dragon move like a tunnelsnake? Weren't dragons supposed to have bones? Or was it just because they were still so... small? It took a little while, but she was finally able to get free; however the dragonet's nose went right back to her knee. That is acceptable, Jada decided, looking into the dragonets multifaceted blue eyes. So when a hand came into firm contact with Jada's butt, the Harper leapt for the sky with an unglorified squawk- a sound that she would not (ever) want included in any later stories, and would deny, deny, deny.
What did she do? Why are you uncomfortable? You sounded like a wherry, Jada. Maintain your composure! Why are you gripping your butt? Why are your eyes wide? Jada, I can't tell if you are angry or embarrassed. Are you still paying attention to me?
"No." Jada's answer was eloquently put, if she did say so herself. She glared at Par'a under her lashes, even more after the woman walked back to B'jin and linked arms. Insult to injury, there. Leave it to the sweet, lunkhead searchrider to be friends with someone so... so...
Jada, if Oruth falls off a dragon, do you think we could catch her?
"What? From that height? No!"
Krypth tilted her head, considering, then left her bonded's leg and traipsed (yes, Jada decided, there was a bounce in the dragonet's step) over to B'jin and Par'a, stepping deliberately into their path and rising onto her haunches. The dragonet had gotten plenty of practice at doing such a thing in order to try and snitch food from Jada's plate. Literally. B'jin. Par'a. The gold's voice was severe, and Jada felt her lips twitch. Why are you letting that- that- poor little dragonet be used as a prop for midair acrobatics? Don't you know that is dangerous? I insist you be adults and put a halt to such dangerous activities!
If something happened to her hussy-in-training clutchmate, Krypth would be in no way to blame. She'd done her part!
