There was a lot happening. Fetch was still trying to go through the earthquake in his head. He'd helped the smaller and younger candidates keep their footing while the ground shook, tried to help steer them away from any panicked dragons. He thought he was doing a good job too until someone else, a candidate who was old enough he didn't think he would have to watch for, went down under a frightened blue. He was bleeding, but from what he was able to see (thanks to his height) the healers were working to help him instead of just covering him up and hiding him, so hopefully he would be fine. He quietly reassured some of the more frightened candidates, his voice the same steady calm that he'd found always helped when his younger siblings were scared. "The healers have him. I'm sure they will be able to help. I think the shaking is done now, I won't let anything fall on you."
Fediletch was even more distressed about the three babies that had gone between in their panic, he didn't even know how he could have helped them. He'd seen that two of the eggs he had touched hatched during the quake, and he hoped they hadn't been the ones to go. With all the chaos he hadn't gotten that clear of a look. Some of the other candidates were still frightened; with his own nerves rattled by the deaths he struggled to try and think of a way to help. And then he remembered the moment of tranquility he'd experienced during the touching and quietly walked them through how to breathe. In and out, just like the egg had showed him. It felt silly, but everyone had mostly settled down by the time the a few more dragons had hatched. He was happy to see the same egg that had helped him hatched and found her person. He would try to check up on the little green later and see if it remembered him at all. And even if it didn't, he could still say hi and maybe try to be friends.
This time when the gold appeared he kept an eye on it, but much to his relief it didn't look like it was moving fast enough to do anything. It did seem confused though and Fetch watched as it made its way to the stands and started trying to climb up the little barrier. It screeched and he wondered if he should go help give it a boost when a man climbed over the wall and gave it a hug. But... that didn't make sense. Mostly to himself he said, "I thought golds picked girls?"
