Hello loves! While I haven't been writing, I have been working on updating some issues that have been hanging around on the layout! The Character change box is now at the bottom of the page, beside the up/down arrows! Green and Gold dragon flight dates have been shifted to the bottom of the page, where the (useless!) discord widget was located. Where the dragon flights were in the header, is now replaced by a Monthly Event box! This will be updated at the start of each month, with a fun mini-event you can take part in, if you want to! Rhaedalyn was anxious to check on Quinvalis as well but she knew more bodies over there would just mean more in the way. He had his mother and some friends, it seemed, so he would be taken care of. Besides, the injury didn't pause the Hatching as another egg gave way to reveal Blue09 that gave a startled cry as he tumbled out. He shook himself off a moment later and trotted around the sands as if greeting everyone before finally going to a boy that looked impatient and wanted to get a move on.
Blue10 was hot on his brother's tail as he quietly made his appearance. He didn't need to greet everyone and went directly to his mate, though his speed decreased as some of the Candidates made startled gasps at his enthusiasm.
Rhaedalyn took R'nya's hand when he returned soon after that Impression and kissed his cheek. He had acted quickly to intercept the mother and was a gentleman to help her speak with the Healers and calm her down a bit. She'd expect nothing less of her mate and would tell him all of that later in a private moment.
It was several minutes beforeGreen15 appeared. She was another one that had her mother's grace as she tripped over her wing and went flying into a nearby egg that helped Blue11 break free as he had been struggling. She chirped at her brother in encouragement before scampering off toward a clump of Candidates and Impressing to a very shocked girl. Rhaedalyn smiled, pleased and gave R’nya a look that said ‘I told you this would be a good idea’ even though she knew the pair would have bonded even if they hadn’t given permission for the girls to Stand for the fighters. This just made R’nya look like a ‘cool Weyrleader’ like M’ris.
As some of the other girls gave their congratulations and looked even more hopeful now,Blue11 finally found his footing and followed his sister’s trail to the same group, though he Impressed to a boy.
Green16 didn’t want to be left out of the fun and sent her egg rocking this way and that as she struggled with a hole to get out of. When she finally did, she trotted over to her mate and he helped remove the little shell hat she still wore. It was rather cute and hoped they would remember that moment fondly.
Blue12 seemed to channel a brown brother of his of earlier as he burst out of his shell with more force that was probably intended. A couple of kids that were a bit too close stumbled back as some bits of shell almost reached their feet. That seemed to be all they were getting from him, though, as he took off in the other direction to find his mate where he happily did a couple of laps around the boy before they wandered off together.
Another few minutes passed but Rhaedalyn didn’t worry. Aradissicath’s babies were usually quick given their size but she still had some lulls here and there. But when another egg finally revealed its contents, Rhaedalyn gasped in surprise. It was the other gold egg and she had to be honest when she said she was happy to see it hatch. Having two in the clutch worried her and had her believing one wouldn’t make it. She had never been happier to be proven wrong!
Gold02 emerged in all her pudgy glory. Rhaedalyn had thought some of the other babies had been pudgy but this girl took the cake. She was round but precious and would be lovely to curl up with, of that she had no doubts. But who would she Impress to?
She headed to the largest group of girls but stopped several feet from them and tilted her head in confusion. Rhaedalyn didn’t panic, yet. That wasn’t all of the girls, it didn’t mean anything. But the gold looked at another group nearby and seemed just as confused as before. Finally, she got up again, turned around and…
Headed towards the stands where she stopped at the small wall that separated the sands from the seats. She gave a soft mewl at a group that Rhaedalyn knew were dragonriders and some visiting lords. Who was the gold calling out for? Oh, please let her bonded be there somewhere! Rhaedalyn didn’t want to lose another one that day.
